Why are fans of female artists so aggressive?
I'm not sure what this is. I like Leona Lewis and she's kind of the only artist like her that I've listened to and I came on here just to kind of catch up with what she was releasing because she kind of disappeared all of a sudden but some of the people are so aggressive and angry all of the time. Is this a phenomena of female 'diva' artists or are fans just mental in general? I've never seen anyone be so rude to each other and it makes me think I shouldn't listen to music like Leona because people that do are really horrible, obsessive and weird. It's just bizarre. Anyone else run into this? This isn't a place by the way for the mentals to come and kick off. Just asking for other people's experiences.

I'd never heard of the word "stan" to describe music fans besides the Eminem track, but it's a word that is used all of the time on here.
Some people can be really over the top. There are artists/groups/bands that I like but I accept that not everyone shares my taste. Unfortunately not everybody is as open minded. |

Yeah, I think 'stanning' is pretty accurate because I'm fairly sure many of the super aggressive ones are mental enough to tie a pregnant woman up and drive off a bridge while recording a message for Leona haha.

I think fans of lots of artists are very aggressive about how good their favourite is/better than everyone else's.
It's just more that there are acceptable targets for whom enthusiasm and defensiveness is slammed, e.g. fans of female singers, teenage girl fans - whereas the same behaviour from fans of rock or metal bands is perfectly tolerated or seen as normal/accepable. |

I think you meant to say "why are online female pop star fans so petty?"

I've noticed a small majority of Kylie fans are very insecure of Madonna to the point all they seem to discuss is Madonna's record sales and if they can't find a thread to discuss Madonna's sales within they will create a new thread on a similar subject just so they can then turn the discussion into being all about Madonna's sales once again. Its very strange behaviour, I would even say obsessive. One of them even sent me a vile private message on here filled with homophobic abuse just because I wouldn't rise to their baiting in one of the threads. Thankfully the mods delt with that person and several multiple accounts he was using.

Leona fans on here are aggressive at times and hypocritical in the way they attack other artists but don't like Leona being criticised.

With the greatest respect (and as someone who has no interest in either Madge or Kylie whatsoever) I'd say both fans are as bad as one another on this forum. And it's quite obvious you and Ellie Arbuckle are the same person - unless you happen to be two people who have the same interests (Madge, Labour & niche TV shows) and the same opinions within those topics.

Its clear you are tracking my every move on the site which again highlights how obsessed you are. For someone who has 'not interest in Madonna or Kylie' you spend a lot of time in their threads on here taking a great interest in their fans. Me and Little Monster have the exact same tastes in music and love EastEnders - damn I guess that means we are the same person too! that's how stupid you sound. Give it up. |

Yeah, I've seen that and heard of stuff with people even being sexist and racist against other artists but then kicking off when people criticise Leona. It's very weird and obviously hypocritical.
