For me, it has to be Danny Boy Hatchard/Lee off EastEnders...

He is so emotionless and whenever he's trying to be serious, I just can not take him seriously at all!

In second place would have to be Maddy Hill. She is dreadful and the way the character talks is painful to listen to. Idk wether it's in the scripts or the way Maddy delivers her lines, but she takes about 2 minutes to finish a sentence, and says the words 'like' and 'and' about 20 times.

That's another reason why I can't stand the Carters, as it means more wooden acting from these two.

(I'm not critical of people's acting much on here, but with these 2 I am willing to make an exception. )

The entire cast of Dynasty from start to finish! ...but inclusion of American soaps is probably cheating on a DS UK forum Agree about Lee from EE being atrocious - his acting has so much wood that I'm surprised he's not permanently needing to go upstairs to knock one out!

The second actor to play Sonny Valentine in HO. Absolutely hilariously bad.

Joe Swash, the worst actor with the most irritating voice ever!

Also doubles up as the most annoying & over exposed 'star' on TV at the momen

The guy who played Spencer Moon was painfully naff. It was a pretty good idea to get a younger brother for Alfie and make him the really thick one a la the trotters, but really, did nobody in casting see that this fella simply had the charisma of a Tory backbencher?

Bruce Jones (Les Battersby) surely.

1) Jimmi Harkishan - Dev Alahan (Corrie)
Must take the number 1 spot for me because I am bamboozled as to how he has managed to remain on one of the country's top shows despite possessing the acting talent of an ant! Without doubt, one of the absolute worst actors both in CS history and in soapland itself.

2) Maddy Hill - Nancy Carter (EE)
The 30th anniversary has just taken me back to EE after a 10-year hiatus so I am only just getting used to the Carters. Hill's dreadful line delivery immediately stood out. I was aware that her character is epileptic and wondered if the way she spoke was supposed to convey something about her condition. That never really rang true with me so I concluded that this is just Hill's acting style. Awful, just awful. How the hell did she win Best Newcomer at the NTA's?

3) Antony Cotton - Sean Tully (Corrie)
Despite being dreadful, you've got to hand it to Cotton. He has hoodwinked everyone into buying his "look, I'm playing me" act and gained a lot of power within ITV along the way. An actor he certainly isn't, but self-promoting, savvy businessman, well... Most Popular Newcomer NTA (1985) , Best Actor BSA (2007) and still on the show after 12 years is not bad going, not to mention that he appears to garner "special treatment" that none of his colleagues receive as regards external projects to the Street

3) Nedjet Salih - Ali Osman (EE)
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned this EE original. He was so bad, he even managed to make Peter Dean (Pete Beale) look believable. What was worse is that his on-screen partner Sandy Ratcliff (Sue) was great in her role which just served to show him up even more. Having said all of that, casting Ali was, apparently, a major big deal in itself as only three Turkish speaking actors could be located in London at the time. One was considered unsuitable while the other two were Salih and the guy who went on to play Ali's brother Mehmet (Haluk Bilginer). Writer Tony Holland wanted Bilginer for Ali while Julia Smith preferred Salih. Though Smith won out in the end, it was not one of her more memorable casting moments. Another little factoid - Salih changed his name to Nej Adamson after leaving EE...probably in an attempt to escape his dreadful work here!!

4) Saeed Jaffrey - Ravi Desai (Corrie)
Jaffrey proved that even BAFTA-nominated actors have off periods. As Ravi Desai, he was absolutely laughable. All eye-rolling and hand gestures, this is a role he would definitely expel from his CV if possible. Ironically, it was this character's departure which paved the way for the introduction of my number 1 choice above for Worst Actor, Jimmi Harkishan as Ravi sold his business to Dev.

Honourable Mentions:

Laila Morse - Big Mo Slater (EE)
Shirley Cheriton - Debbie Wilkins (EE)
Jonathan Dixon - Darryl Morton (Corrie)

I cannot remember callum at all and he was a very minor character.

The moon brothers were hit or miss. I thought they were a product of a bad era and they never really developed and only had the one boxing story really which thay centered around michael and eddie. Imo those two were underdeveloped and tyler i think had potential with his relationship With whitney.

That was Kenny Doughty. He's now playing the second lead in Vera and his films include Elizabeth and Titus, and amongst his many TV credits (Shameless, Spooks, New Tricks, etc) he gave a stunningly accurate portrayal of the late, great Joe Orton in Fantabulosa!

Hardly the CV, I would submit, of a "bad actor".

It 's just fashionable to slate the American soaps, but to say the entire cast of Dynasty was awful is just wrong. Joan Collins was outstanding as archetypal superbitch Alexis, a role which garnered six consecutive Golden Globe nominations and one win among others.

Lol I know, he just mumbled and snogged Candice. Your right about Adam Rickitt, even Adam admits he was only hired for the sex appeal.

Totally agree. She was horrendously bad. The epitome of getting a job purely on her looks. I believe she left to go to Hollywood to get into films! Backgound guest, sixth from the left at a pool party if she's lucky.

Home & Away must make a thing of using particularly bad but good looking planks of wood as they've replaced her with a character called Phoebe that is verging on being as bad. She cant act at all, overdoes every scene and delivers everything in an emotionless, monotone voice. Undoubtedly one of the most annoying soap characters too.

I take it she's leaving soon as they've already introduced the new plank, a policewoman character. They surely can't intend to have two so awful in it at the same time for a lengthy spell.

Eastenders:
Nick Cotton
Big Mo
Dexter
Joey Branning
Tyler Moon
Spencer Moon
Dean Wicks

Corrie
Sean Tully
Dev
Les Dennis
All of the Nazirs except Alya

There are probably more but these are the ones who really offend me!

Sadly gone are the days (not far back) of Belle, Aden & Nicole who, while being very attractive youngsters to look at, were also brilliant young actors!!

Well it fits in well with 3/4 of the cast who can't act, I swear bar the old timers (Alf, Leah, Irene, Marilyn, Roo) and a few notable exceptions (Ricky and Kyle are pretty good), the current H and A cast is awful, the guy who works in the Diner being the worst (Chris?)
