Aww RIP James, a lasting memory for me is watching him every saturday night on German tv when I lived in Berlin many years ago, such a lovely man and a great band leader and entertainer.

The end of an era ; it seemed that everyone's parents had a James Last L.P or cassette in the 70's. I loved " music from across the way " and " happy heart" that he wrote for Pet Clark- though both Pet and Andy Williams would have hits with it.
I quite liked his " happy music" |

My parents have a lot of James Last CDs as they really like his music. One of their favourites is James Last in Scotland. Not my cup of tea but I guess he was good at what he did. RIP James
