Just as we are getting near the (apparent) end of Maruel it seems like Kate Oates has another couple lined up to take their place as most annoying paring in the Dales, Debbie and Ross. Just like with Maurel, and Ashley's character they are changing Pete to into a bad guy to justify Resting Bitch Face going off with Ross. Also like Maurel we are supposed to be rooting for this couple however they have no chemistry what so ever despite insistence by TPTB that they are the second coming of Cain/Charity.

Dour Debbie always drags the fabulous, delicious Ross down, plot-wise. He should have been having a hot affair with Chrissie, instead.

Although I am enjoying seeing him on screen, the Ross/Debbie nonsense leaves me as cold as Debbie.

No, of course they aren't. Nothing could ever be that bad. I personally don't get the outrage over Ross and Debbie. She's better with Ross than dull Pete. Ross and Carly have no chemistry either.

I completely agree, that kiss she planted on him had no spark and seemed forced. If they are going to break up Debbie and Pete they should have put her with Andy she has great chemistry with her and with her supporting Andy after the death of Katie it would have been believable that they fell for each other again.

They are so dire. A severe case of trying too hard, methinks. I honestly usually FF or wander off. I can hear her shouting from the other room anyway. The worst thing is, it makes sexy Ross terminally dull.

I can't wait for it to be over.

I hate those combined names but if it had been going to happen Dross is fitting for both of them.

I don't think it will ever get to be as bad as Maurel. I really don't see them lasting as a long-term couple. Ross has loved her since before Donna but Debbie has never reciprocated those feelings.

It's still watchable despite not being the most believable relationship - if they're still going by this time next year I will be surprised.

This is what I'm hoping for, especially since Charlie Webb is pregnant IRL it should put an end to this madness

Please Debbie doesn't deserve to wipe the dirt off HBIC Charity's shoes, she is nothing like her mother. If anything Debbie is more like Cain, hard faced with no feelings.

How dare you. Bernice and Crispin had far more chemistry.

Oi!! Bernice and Crispin were a match made in heaven! She even knew what his favourite U2 album was! Why did TPTB have to split them up so soon.

But how do you know this? What have we seen of Debbie and Pete's relationship aside from their arguments over Ross?

No, Chrissies going to have it off with Cain. Even though there's been nothing remotely between them. Like you say I'd rather her get off with Ross. Cain is rather drab these days.

Not remotely close to as bad as Maurel. Debbie isn't good enough for the divine Ross, though.

I thought Ross had much better chemistry with Donna than he has with Debbie. It just seems rather forced to me.

I know Emmerdale are really trying to big them up, but I just don't feel the chemistry at all.
