James and Josh are making this really difficult to watch.

Acaster's agent is earning his ten per cent this week. I can only assume someone dropped out at the last minute.

Matt Forde getting as many Ed Miliband impressions in as possible before everyone forgets who he was. He'll need a new act soon.

Is Widdecombe the new regular then?

He was good value last night. He stepped up his involvement.

I didn't think much of the first episode. The funniest bit was the joking about Cameron getting the party started at the G7 ("Captain Austerity" )

I agree much as I hate to say this it was only any good when Frankie Boyle was still on the show. Went down the pan after he left. And sometimes when they go on a ramble and talk about something for what seems like 10 minutes and it's full of in jokes that only they get I just feel like saying shut up and get on with the show.

Me too.

Rob Beckett is one of the best non-permanent panellists IMO. He's good on 8 Out Of 10 Cats as well.

I wonder if they'll try and get Russell Howard back for one show to celebrate the 10 years. I don't think Frankie Boyle would consider it.

I'm still enjoying the program.

James Acaster does nothing for me, might have Fwd his bit on John Bishops show and certainly did on the second attempt (sandman arrived) to watch Mock the week when he did his Mexican food thing.
He might not have come up with anything that amused me at all, but I'm not going to analyse the program, overall they were amusing and can appear again, he can stay home.

Katherine Ryan's celeb/youth based 'slang' thing doesn't quite work for me, I think the audience took a while to catch on to the Joey Essex joke too.
Then again, I'm old and very much out of any loop currently going on.

If she's doing her stand up avoid...snog her to stop her doing her stand up...she wasn;t that good unfortunately.

Milton 'sniper' Jones was excellent...did nothing for about 19minutes and then nailed it with the Warsaw Packed gag...you could see the others just loving it...

I felt the London DumdumdiddlyEye joke was his best.

"Widow No 3" was also a corker...well, they all were he's a comedic genius.

It's a strange one with Milton. After every joke they seem to cut back to one of the panelists to see them in hysterics.

They don't do that often with the other comics even if you can hear the audience laughing or the other panelists laughing in the background.

Last time they used to do it regularly was when Frankie stole the show with one of his obscene comments.

There is a definite appreciation there of his surreal comic mind...sometimes when he starts a line you can see the other comedians just shut up and watch him waiting for the punch-line - they never seem to talk over him like they sometimes do with other comedians.

Most stand ups don't come across as their best on panel shows. Look at how Michael McIntyre was on panel shows, then how he become a huge name when he did his Comedy Roadshow Series.

Ellie was quite good when she appeared on a stand-up show from the Edinburgh Fringe last year.

Stand-ups do very well on the show. Normally they will 'burn' a good short routine on the show to appear funny. She really did not use her best short bit of material and her final 'lines you wouldn't expect' contributions were a bit obvious.

I'm am not saying she was bad but she did not impress that much. They do seem to be having less experienced comedians on and I do know that they can not broach certain subjects which means they have to be funny but skirt many issues ...BBC 'compliance' and not wanting to offend Daily Mail readers.

Case in point:

Why does James Acaster completely avoid the topic on the stand-up round? Instead of talking about Britain (I think it was) in the first episode he talked about South America.

In the last series the topic was Adventure and he talked about Cheese Graters and how he wasn't adventurous enough to use one side of it.
