Not oblivious irony, just a mistake. I forgot to put "I think" before the second line. Not sure what my post count has to do with it though.

Just watched the latest episode on iPlayer. I thought it was comparatively poor compared to others this series, the "If This Is The Answer, What Is The Question?" round was funny as usual but the rest lacked bite.

I thought both Rob Beckett and Ed Gamble were awful at the stand up round. I would have much preferred to have seen Sara Pascoe and Romesh Ranganathan (although this obviously couldn't happen as they were both on the same team).

Sara Pascoe barely got a look in, which was probably for the better. Hugh Dennis was on point as usual, Ed Byrne was meh. It says something when a light bulb blowing was the most interesting thing that happened in the episode.

It's on it's summer break now. Not back until September.

I was looking forward to tuning in tonight. I guess I can rewatch last weeks.

Dave are showing the first series at the moment.

Why can't they run a similar schedule to HIGNFY, where they have a Spring series then a Autumn series?

Oh thanks for mentioning that. I didn't realise. I wondered why I couldn't find it on iPlayer!

It's back!

The Jeremy Corbyn joke has to be one of Kat Ryan's best since...ages.

Is this from a studio recording?

Sara Pascoe was awful in the last episode. Not even sure why she was there if she's just gonna laugh raucously and tell bad jokes that are only funny if you are as drunk as she is.

It was odd. She's normally good value on this. She totally fluffed one joke and seemed to lose her nerve. Ed Gamble was very good I thought.

Two good shows so far.

Ed Gamble was better this time around than last.

Worst episode of the series this week by a long, long way. Sara Pascoe was awful, her jokes were terrible and the only person who found them funny seemed to be her!

Ed Gamble was annoyingly smug, Hugh Dennis and Ed Byrne were meh as usual, Andy Parsons was good value, and Nathan Caton was very funny.

They need Frankie back. It was his show and it just aint as funny without him.

What an oddly personal thing for a continuity announcer to say when introducing MTW!

What did he say (I missed the beginning)?

It was @ "If you've had a bad week like I have, sit back and relax with these mockers".

I don't think they needed to spend so much time on the pig. It wasn't really that much of a story. The PM seems to have just ignored it so it's not much of a scandal.

It was front page of pretty much every newspaper for the three days before they record the show! #Piggate was the second highest trending topic on social media worldwide. There really wasn't all that much else they were going to talk about, frankly.

Right, because that's how satire works. If the person you're satirising isn't joining in, you just stop.

I agree - that joke got spread far too thinly.

Seeing Ellie Taylor on the most recent episode made me question the policy of 1 female comedian per episode. Putting one of the most girly comedians alongside 6 male comedians doesn't work that well. It probably would have worked better to have an all-male week and then to have one female on each team the following week.

The question is- who is more unfunny, Zoe Lyons or Sara Pascoe?

Who do you find more unfunny, only you'd know and only you care.

I wonder what would happen if for some reason they couldn't book a female guest. I think they'd probably cancel the episode rather than come across as un-PC

Keep forgetting Ellie Taylor is a comedienne, as the first time I saw her was Snog Marry Avoid on BBC Three.

By the way, what happened to Karen Taylor(I think?)

No Andy Parsons! Replaced by Ed Gamble...

Think it's only the third show he's missed. Dara and Hugh have done every one.
