You can get the Windows 7 games from here:
http://winaero.com/blog/get-windows-...or-windows-10/ Not tried it myself, but Winaero is a reputable site....

Months and months after downloading W10 on my number one laptop I finally got the nag to download onto laptop 2 last night
Took about 2 hours, no immediate problems Took me a little while to figure out how to get Internet Explorer back onto my desktop and taskbar............the shortcuts had been deleted during the upgrade But other than that everything appears to be in the right place and working............... |

Appreciate if anyone can advise with a problem I have since upgrading to W10 yesterday. It all seemed to work fine and was relieved that all my files etc had gone across. However, when I did a re boot as requested by Kaspersky it all turned to the brown stuff.
Basically I'm confronted by the BSOD, getting the error message :- SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Have tried system restore, start up repair, previous build, tried start up settings selecting Safe Mode from boot. This doesn't work it still goes directly to the BSOD. The only option I have is accessing the Command Prompt I tried something called SFC/SCANNOW and some other things but nothing has worked. ![]() The computer Is a Lenovo all in one which I've has since July and was running 8.1. I don't have a Windows 8.1 disc or any Operating System disc. It was all pre-installed. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

Is there any extra info after SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED ????
eg See here http://www.thewindowsclub.com/system...-on-windows-10 =-=-=-= You can make W10 or W8.1 Installation DVDs or USBs, on a working computer, via W10 Media Creation Tool W8.1 Media Creation Tool (both are handy to have for your system, even if they may or may not be needed in this thread query) |

No, there isn't any extra info after the error message. That is all it says. Thanks for your suggestion of using the media creation tool. I'm using an old Win 7 laptop so I'll need to get a USB flash drive and select Create Installation media for another PC. I guess when it says to go to runsetup.exe I can do that via the Command Prompt? I hope so as that is all I can seem to access on the Lenovo! |

'Create Installation media for another computer' will allow iso download to create DVDs, if you prefer (right click downloaded iso and Burn to disc)
A Repair Install (In-place Upgrade), by running setup.exe only works if you can boot into Windows. It does not work from Safe mode or the Repair Command Prompt) So at this stage, a DVD/USB is only useful for the Repair Tools on it or to make a Clean Install. If you want to do that, you would need to make sure you have a valid W8.1 License key and also backup all your data by connecting the hard drive to another computer. |

You could see if you have that Nvidia driver and renaming it to .syk instead of .sys via the command prompt.
If you don't, I don't have any other ideas just now. |

Ebuyer has a SansDisk 960GB SSD for £154, code SSD.
I am in the habit like most people now of having the OS on an SSD and everything else on mechanical drives but at that price it looks like the days of the latter are even more numbered than I thought. Only fly in the ointment are those M2 drives, they also require PCI lanes so one too many and your super graphics card could take a hit. Next upgrade I will have the OS on a super speedy M2 and storage on a large SSD like the one mentioned. Backup on a mechanical drive. |

Do you have a link for this as I cannot find it at that price?
I just added it to my basket and entered SSD in the promotion code box and it dropped to £154. I'm not buying one, it was a general email from Ebuyer rather than a personalized one so should work for you. |

New Insider version 11082
https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexp...w-build-11082/
Known issues: We have a few known issues for Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 11082 •Languages packages and Features on Demand will fail to install on this build. We are investigating workarounds. •When copying, deleting, or moving files there will be no progress dialog shown. The file action will complete without intervention. This can cause confusion when acting on large files or directories. •With this build, application defaults for some applications will be reset. Music & Video will default to Windows Media Player. This can be reconfigured opening Cortana or Search and searching for “Choose default apps by file type” to open the correct settings page. |

Just installed todays update.Took about 5 mins. to install & restart my laptop.
My wife bought a new low end laptop [ € 199 or about 144 pounds ] from HP last week that had 8.1 installed. We put Windows10 on yesterday & it took just under 2 hours. It is annoying having to wait for 188 updates & three restarts during the process. All went well though. |

I got a new pc a few weeks back...(old pc was running vista and had become a bit slow for todays needs anyway. ).
Win 10 was preinstalled....after doing the updates..I got rid of all the ACER bloatware, and got the desktop to look like my old familiar Vista ![]() No problems yet and I can now play Fallout 4.

I had a few issues updating to the latest build but it turned out to be due to lack of disk space. For some reason hibernation had re-enabled itself and was using a massive chunk of space on my SSD.
Just a word of warning to anyone using Win10, System Restore is disabled by default. If you re-enable it and upgrade to a newer build it will also become disabled again. How do I know this? Well I made a minor balls up (admittedly through my own fault ) and am unable to revert back to an earlier point in time as all my checkpoints got deleted too. Its not a massive thing, not enough to warrant a reinstall anyway, but its worth bearing in mind as some may get caught out by it. Type Create a Restore Point into the search box to see what the current state is.

To check your restore point list, just enter in rstrui.exe in the search box.
Not seen any problems with restore points being disabled on any of my machines. All have been enabled and working fine. |

It gets reset with every new Build of W10 (not Windows Updates).
Unless they have finally changed their mind and it will again be reverted to ON as default https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Restore |

Looking like onedrive placeholders will be back when redstone makes its debut next year. It may be a turn on feature, as most never really got the idea of it.
Also, the paperclip office assistant 'clippy' may be back, disguised as a floating Cortana. Not sure if this will go down well, the paperclip never really got the attention of the public. during the late 90s and early 00s. |

I had an update yesterday for one of my computers running the home version, but my other one running pro isn't getting an update.
Is this correct? I look for updates on a daily basis. |
