A decent HOSTS file is very useful. Use HostsMan to easily switch it on and off, because it can block some shopping links when you are looking for something (also some TV On-demand and Catch-up links).

Also see http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I just use Edge on ad-light sites and Chrome with Adblock on everything else.

Umm... May I ask, how would you rate the compression quality of this video?

Sorry that was a Periscope video, Newer uploads are not like that.

Well here's me thinking I'm at the cutting edge....
Happened to be using Explorer to open a file with the right click menu and noticed 'cast to device'....clicked it and my Sony wireless TV switched from TV to show me my picture file.
Tried a video MP4 MOV, an MP3...flippin marvelous.

You can multi-select to make a slide show or stack MP3's.

I now have a better video to show off to new people, That Periscope was the worst video to show new people. It is hidden now and I rather it stay that way:

http://www.youtube.com/user/maplaptop

One thing to note that Subscribers to my YouTube channel will see the daily uploads, I did this separate because long stuff may be better to show off to new people and short stuff will keep people. Not sure it will work but I am open to anything:

To get and keep subscribers you need to post something interesting.

That zoo video is interesting alongside the RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 videos.

If you'd like an honest opinion...

Spoiler
They're a bit random. If you want to attract subscribers it would be a good idea to stick to a single theme, like gameplay videos, without throwing in videos of your personal life. Maybe consider opening a separate account for videos of you visiting the zoo and wotnot, which will be of zero interest to people who are into Rollercoaster Tychoon.

And about that, you haven't even labelled it properly. Nowhere does it actually say, "Rollercoaster Tychoon". You've just called it, "OpenRCT2 - First online Leaky Lake", which is frankly gibberish. Even the description (which nobody looks at) says nothing about what the video is really about, so how will a search engine be expected to know? Nobody will ever even find you unless you use plain English descriptive titles.

As to the video itself, there's still no explanation of what we are seeing! You just crack on playing some computer game or other. It's only because I once owned a copy of Rollercoaster Tychoon that I know what's going on, and even I haven't a clue what 'openRCT' is, or that there was/is a multiplayer version. (Is there?)

In short, I learned nothing from watching your videos and I'm left with more questions than answers. Please do not upload any videos with 'handy tips' for Windows 10. Leave it to the experts, otherwise you're just going to create noise, and people may even resent you for getting in the way of the information they're searching for, giving your channel a bad rep.

Sorry for the tough love.

I hate to disillusion you, but, NO, they are not.
Maybe that's the reason you have only 8 subscribers. How old are you? I apologise if your are 12 or under.

The channel has being changed now, With a link to the RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 mod I am using. Now the trouble is that I am explaining it better on here then the channel itself.

Windows 10

It is clear that while many users in this thread have benefited from Windows 10, there are others who have their concerns or who are upset at what they see:

Spoiler

"How can an operating system with a build in key logger ever be considered more secure. In fact everything required to turn your computer into a privacy invasive bot controlled by someone else is built right into the OS. Don't need to install any trojan ware at all under Windows anal probe 10, you just need to break in once, redirect the links and you are done.

The whole idea is utter insanity and a solid indication that it is well and truly beyond time to abandon doing any business at all with M$."

"b) I opened up my daughters new W10 Dell i7 laptop to see what W10 was like and after three hours or so decided it was an ABOMINATION – a cheap circus with a plethora of harrowing, time wasting sideshows.

c) I was bombarded for weeks on end (here in Sydney Australia) with W10 adverts during my meager TV viewing. I considered them to be the most ORWELLIAN thing I’ve ever seen .. since 1984 anyway.

Talk to me about toys – I saw enough of them when I spent a few harrowing hours in my daughters new W10 laptop. Oh, the CandyCrush and similar .. the involuntary .. “see your aunts daughters latest photos of her pet poodle on fakebook” .. “see what the latest twit has tweeted about angelena jeolees wardrobe” .. “check what the weather is in Borneo” .. and a plethora of other such uninvited garbage."

^^^ It is safe to say that those are not glowing revues of this new operating system.

How I laughed when reading the review - clearly not a knowledgable computer user, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it has been posted by Tim Cook as a spoof.

Feel free although on a serious point I do feel that a lot of upset on the part of PC and laptop owners would have been avoided if Microsoft had followed the previous examples of having a separate, downloadable Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor which would let the home user know in advance that there were going to incompatibilities so that a lot of the grief would have been avoided.

There are perhaps a number of options such as upgrade to the latest version of Freemake or try and run the version you have in compatibility mode (please see http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/se...ode-windows-10)

Actually, some article comments are more informative than original article while others are more entertaining than the ITV2 schedule! (mind you, that is kind of a low barrier!)

Looks like MS are pushing W10 automatically now. At least one PC under my control seems to have updated overnight without any provocation.

MS claims that they aren't doing it, though http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...-automatically

What's strange is that initially, a user account that is an MS account lost all of its data, but after it rebooted automatically to apply updates, it all came back (onedrive etc is not involved)
