W10 is great and fully worth the £0 it cost me, some people are just ungrateful when it comes to free gifts.

Well after 2 weeks of frustrating surfing I ' went back' to Windows 7 and will never download 10 again, I can now get back on the sites that would not load with Windows 10.

I'm not sold on W10, It has just to much going on, pre installed apps you don't want or need, cortana does anyone use it? rubbish app store, not to mention Microsoft seems to be going the same way as google in regards to your data and advertising practices. The entire thing is definitely slower than W7 on my i5 4GB laptop.
The media etc love W10 but have a search for some user reviews and it would seem people are far from impressed as the below demonstrates http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/op...owser-3574736/ |

I went back to 8.1 after I started getting 1-2 second black screens the odd time with 10.

You don't know the difference between Windows 10 and Edge. You can use any browser. Your loss.
I am back on Windows 7 and can now access the sites that Windows 10 would not allow me to. |

Not at all. People are ungrateful about being tricked/forced/nagged into upgrading when what they have works fine. If Microsoft had just made the free upgrade offer and left it at that then they would have had good PR and problems with upgrading (drivers etc) would just have been accepted for what they are.

Windows 10 is fine for me once I'd removed lots of the crap I won't ever use or want. I'm happy that I can make the start menu how I want it with most used programs or windows applications on right there where I want them.
It's much like any other OS, once installed you then spend a few hours making how you want it, such as removing cortana, unticking all the sharing/spying/report back/crap and other assorted junk many won't ever use. It's an operating system, I don't really care too much about all the bells and whistles, I just want a stable system that doesn't require taking drugs to get basic stuff done. The one very irritating thing that gets me is that some windows look like Win7/8 and they never got around to making everything uniform... that's very poor I think. I'd rather all windows looked the same, and I think the current trend of nasty pale grey / wishy washy windows screens isn't as helpful as Win7 style of window screens. |

I tried all my browsers, firefox, chrome, edge, opera, they were all the same.it really is not my loss, as I could not use my pc in the way I wanted on Windows 10.

Agree with Stig.
Windows 10 does its self NOT block sites. I have been using Windows 10 since it was first released with no problems what so ever. |

Windows 10 does not block sites. I have no idea what your problem was, but it's not common to W10 users.

Well everything was OK before installing, and everything is OK now I have gone back, so the problem was something to do with it, the sites would simply not load, and when they did , it took about 5 minutes.

That was the Cardassians who were also in TNG and Voyager. I made the same mistake for ages when I first heard about the Kardashians and thought there were loads of closet Star Trek fans out there.

Gosh there really are some whinges on this thread and what comes through loud and clear with most is they really don't know their backsides from their elbows when it comes to using a computer.
Most of what I read about W10 errors aren't W10 errors at all but operator doesn't know what they are doing errors - embarrassing.

You have to remember that just because you've had a smooth transition not everyone else has and it may not be user error. Having millions of not very technical users doesn't help, they're not the sort to have any interest in how or what an OS is, they just want to turn on, surf the web, write a letter, print it out. And when it changes they don't like it.
I think other than the forceful nature that MS had adopted, the actual Win10 upgrade for many people actually goes very smoothly. But inevitably some will crash, some will find software/hardware incompatibles and some will just hate change of any sort. The problem is computers have become domestic appliances! |

Well, I updated to Windows 10 again because I was getting sick of that nagging pop-up box. I'll just stick with it this time. I have a feeling either my monitor could be dying off because the same problem has started happening with both 8.1 and 10 whether the graphics driver from the motherboard disc or the latest one was installed. Anyway, I'll be rid of the nagging now. I'll have to get a cheap monitor.

Oh right. I have heard the joke before but i assumed since it was so old that you wouldn't repeat it and that you'd genuinely made the same mistake as me and first thought they were from Star Trek - I heard a reference rather than seen it spelt otherwise I would have realised it was something different.

Two installs went flawlessly and although the older XP original Laptop warned it may not be compatible I did it anyway simply as an experiment. This was actually upgrading from a W8 install. Apart from tinkering with a few settings and a couple of driver updates this too is now running like clockwork. Some of the stories I read on here make me want to weep - more often than not the issue does not lie with MS and Windows 10. |
