No, I think its called "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607"
Now I realised that first I got a cumulative update for 1607 and now it's a feature update. Downloaded now, it's preparing the installation so I should know soon what it is.

If Microsoft was really that bothered, they would mandate qualifying packages for the assistive technology loophole.

Anyway 10 is adware, so it is win win.

I hit the check update button at 6pm and it began to download immediately. Two other PCs I have that run W10 showed "no updates available'' repeatedly and still do.

All went well with the install until I got a black screen at about 7pm. I left it for 45mins, then rebooted forcibly. The new version is successfully installed.

You are correct!

However I only just recently wiped my desktop and now Windows is only seeing 2TB instead of 3TB. I am told I need to convert the MBR to GPT.....but I can't do that with a partition where the operating system is saved to.

Not amused right now

Can't add Translator for Edge. Keeps asking to be repaired.

Why don't apps have jumplists when they're pinned?

Having said that, although the extension won't install, Edge is flying. Really fast compared to the older build.

The amount of buzz and excitement for this release is very encouraging. People are desperate to get the Anniversary Update on sites like reddit, Facebook and Twitter and are searching for workarounds to jump the queue. (Windows Media Creation tool is the shortcut to get it now btw). This is a home run for Microsoft.
I would have thought it would have been in Microsoft's interest to have made the anniversary update available before ending the free upgrade offer so as to encourage maximum uptake of Windows 10.

I've been using Windows 10 for over a year and it has ran reasonably smoothly. Today when upgrading to the latest Windows 10 version, I got a message which says:

"The display is not compatible with Windows 10. Check with the manufacturer for support."

My Surface Pro 4 has successfully updated to the Anniversary edition. Apps that I have previously uninstalled reappeared and I have removed them again. However, I suspect that some of them will come back and effectively be not removable. I'm pretty sure that I've uninstalled some apps more than once since the update.
Groove Music became my default media player overwriting my selection of WMP.
I'm so glad that I left my main PC of Windows 7.
I've been running through various screens confirming that many "features" are turned off in line with my wishes. I think that there are more such screens to find.

I get the feeling that I will be trying to bail out a (privacy/security) leaking boat with a colander.

There are various tools to adjust privacy settings on Windows 10

http://bgr.com/2015/08/14/windows-10...privacy-tools/

apparently one of the best is this one, which now has an english translation

http://www.winprivacy.de/english-home/

also the old classic, spybot

This has nothing to do with Windows 10. When you reinstalled, you incorrectly installed as legacty bios, not UEFI. Same would have happened on windows 7 or 8.

Just got the update tonight. Is there any way to change that start up/shut down colour. Mine seems to be set to a really horrible pinkish purple.

Windows Update

Updates are available.
• Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607.

Details
============-------------------------------------------
Preparing to install updates 32%
It's been stuck at 32% for some time now. Is this a known issue?

[Edit] Scratch that. Now it's saying, "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800705b4)"

I'll work the problem and report back later...

That will be based on your Theme colour I suspect.
