Stop just quoting other people/articles......Most of them are suspect anyway and a million miles from what is actually happening.

If you are talking about having the PC auto log in when switched on, i use https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...nals/autologon
I keep the program on an external hard drive, just in case i need to run it again after any OS update, of which i had to with the latest W10 one, i can say it still works! Run it ( i run as admin), put in your password and enable and it should auto log you in.

Have completed the AU today without any issues whatsoever. However, one app that for me has shown no signs of improvement is Edge. I find it woefully slow compared to the competition.

Here is a new way of disabling the lock screen - see option 3
http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/6...dows-10-a.html It may not work on initial lock screen after starting but does work after sleep or manual locking (win+l), If you auto login, you do not get initial lockscreen.

No idea why it would be slow on your machine, it's certainly not slow, whatever else is levelled at it...

I agree with the posts above that Edge used to be fast, but I haven't got the Anniversary Update on my PC yet. |

Has anyone tried Adblock for Edge yet? The lack of an ad blocker was the biggest downside of Edge for me.
I agree with the posts above that Edge used to be fast, but I haven't got the Anniversary Update on my PC yet. All run great. Adblock and Adblock plus are both there along with pin it button, translator, evernote, amazon, save to pocket, reddit, mouse gestures and page analyser.. Im sure many more will be on their way soon. Edge matches others for speed, not sure what those slow reports are all about. Still at the moment prefer firefox, but that's just familiarity and do beta and contribute to the nightly builds.. |

I've just run that, but now I'm worried that I might have mis-typed the password. I don't know why it hides the characters as you type with this type of program as it's important that you get them right. I know I didn't make a mistake, but how on earth do you get round it if you got it wrong?

I suspect it has something to do with adbloc or the lack of it on sites such as this. Chrome deals with it no issues but with Edge it looks like maggots have got loose Yuk - I do have Edge set to block ads.

Just me or has the MS page with the MCT gone AWOL?
Edit: Edge won't open it, but IE does. |

Come across another issue with Edge. I have installed the extension Lastpass but it too working i.e. it is not populating my passwords in Edge. Go into Chrome and it works immediately. Oh well! nice try MS but I really think you need to call it a day with browsers you've been out of the game too long.

I think you'll find that is not MS that has got it wrong but all the extension authors.

I can't get extensions to work in Edge, not the ones I want anyway. They have installed on my desktop but it's not my primary device. On my laptop the installation needs repair but the suggestion to reinstall doesn't do anything.
You can then try the install again from the store. I did this twice with ABP before it worked. All working fine now. |
