advertisement
ədˈvəːtɪzm(ə)nt,-tɪs-/
noun
noun: advertisement; plural noun: advertisements
a notice or announcement in a public medium promoting a product, service, or event or publicizing a job vacancy.
Whether Microsoft makes any money out of them is another matter, but they do point to paid for apps as well as free ones.”
If you ask your computer to show you something, and then it shows you, what part of that do you think is an advertisement? What you're asserting is that if you ask your PC to show you 'adverts' it does do, therefore I was wrong to say there are no adverts. That about right?
I'm not sure what you mean by 'default' settings. You can certainly pay no attention whenever you install software or make changes to your computer, but it's a little disingenuous if, having done so, you then grumble that things aren't set up the way you'd like.
