Yes indeed. I do some work on a technical helpline, for a specialist (not computing) site.
Basic OS and browser details are recorded, via user agent interrogation, as these can be critical to supporting the site content, which is highly configurable by the end-user.
Even now, into the second year of Win 10 heaven, it is possible to see end users who still have Win 98 (yes!) in use, XP, of course, Vista and naturally win 7 and 8.x The choice of browsers is pretty diverse too: IE 6 through 11, Opera v12 +, Firefox from v 20+, Chrome and so on.
It never ceases to amaze me that some users are are still unaware of how to use "copy and paste", or how to change overall screen display by Ctrl +/-.
Given the complexity of modern browsers it is perhaps not surprising that there are occasional issues.
