Just checked my laptop that is on 24/7 and the W10 is already downloaded, waiting there like a Trojan for a signal from the HQ

Try going to the control panel and selecting check for updates, that seemed to start mine off.

Wonder if anyone is going to play classic games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon on Windows 10 for a laugh?

Just a good old nag here:

Make sure you do a full system image backup before you do the upgrade in case it all goes pearshaped.

Also make sure you know your current install code (less important for windows 8.1 but still advisable in case things really go pearshaped).

Very wise indeed. I can almost picture the threads already - "URGENT - ****ing M$ Win10 update killed my PC and I've lost all my photos!!!"

BACK UP YOUR STUFF BEFORE MAKING MAJOR CHANGES TO YOUR PC

I didn't back up my Windows 7..... I just removed that drive and put in a clean 500gb one!

Liking Windows 10 so far now that I'm a bit more familiar with it and battered it into shape.

So now I left my other laptop on and a Surface 3 pro, the laptop has already finished downloading, the Surface is just starting. Looks like there's a lot of traffic today on MS servers.

Out of interest, how can you install to a blank disk without an iso or install code?

Now there is a question that doesn't really require an answer.

Of to put it another way: I had an ISO with an install code.

.....So do you enable this "Aero Glass" for Windows 10 as solid colours on all windows look a bit amateurish. I want transparency like Windows 7.

I'm keeping a eye on what's happening in
http://forums.windowscentral.com/win...-reserved.html

As well as hitting check for updates every so often, ah well may be late into work tomorrow due to staying up late pressing check updates

Is Windows 10 being released midnight local time to each region, or is it locked to midnight ET US time?

I bet these servers are going to be hit hard anyway over the coming days.

Good times!

RCT2 works fine for me on 10, and Theme Hospital for that matter

You can ask, but due to DS policy, I can't answer.

Why EST? Microsoft are on the west coast are they not?
So that's PST which is 8 hours behind us in the UK - So 8am tomorrow (29th)

And of course, not everyone will have their PCs on at whatever time is activates.
