Remember, Microsoft are releasing it in stages, with Windows Insiders getting first nabs.
Well, i think im going to leave it for now, the win 8 to 8.1 took about 3 hours, who knows how long this update will take, and i dont want to be up all night lol |

The talk from many on Twitter (be cautious but there's a lot of people saying it) is that the Windows 10 updates will not roll out until 5am. Would tally as to why nothing happened at midnight or 1am. That being the case, I'm going to bed and updating after work tomorrow night.

Hey, wouldn't it be nice if Microsoft actually explained what was going on and how it was going to proceed?
It's not a national secret that is likely to endanger life, is it? Or even of commercially sensitive as everyone knows that Windows 10 is being released around about now or sooner or later or maybe, sometime! |

Either way, you would have though they would have rolled it out by timezone to get a steady upgrade, because if they're releasing it the exact time around the world, surely it will put a load more strain on the severs? |

I don't understand, these websites reporting that people in the Asia Pacific region are getting the updates, yet there seems no buzz about it from there. Maybe they've jumped the gun?

They may have got the updates just like some here have got updates, but that doesn't mean they have gotten all the updates/downloads required and doesn't mean that their computer has popped up a box saying "Windows 10 is ready click OK to install it". How many have had that and done it and installed it? That's different from the words "Getting (or got) the updates". I mean earlier tonight I got some Window 10 updates and they installed but then I already have Windows 10 fully installed and up and running for 2 day now. So mine where just updates. |

There was one VERY dodgy looking screenshot out there. Actually, I haven't seen a single 100% confirmed report of an upgrade happening yet.
I have no idea how they will trigger it but maybe they are keeping one important file back until most of the world has got a large proportion of the needed files: Then they will add the important missing file to their servers and then most with the complete set will spring into action and ask if you want to install it. That way most will have spent the whole day getting files and spread the load. Had they put the full set of files on their server in one go, the whole world downloading it at once would have crashed the server forever since this morning. A clever and only way to do it is to spread it out and then add the small key file to the set after everyone has got most files. |

Well as my Windows 10 is running just fine and I have put a lot of work into it today to set it up and make it how I want it, I'm exhausted and off to bed!
![]() ![]() Who is going to be the first to post: IT'S INSTALLING?! |

I just checked Windows update on my Dell and it reported a 2.72GB update available, labelled as Windows 10. I'm halfway through downloading it.
