If you have 32 bit OS can you download 64 bit win10 or does it have to be 32bit?

You would have to upgrade using the same version as you have now, and then clean install the other version afterwards.

Have had no problems with vmwre player or vmware workstation on W 10.

Run my insider build, three linux distros and yosemite, x86 android and yosemite as and no problems at all. VMware player does get an update when you install W10 and you should really reload/reinstall your vmware tools.

Don't know about Sky Go, but Kaspersky 2016 is just out and works with Windows 10 (albeit it has some reduced functionality that'll get fixed in later updates). The last version of Kaspersky 2015 can also work with Windows 10. So, if you haven't already, upgrade your Kaspersky to the latest version of 2015 or install 2016 instead.

I am finding Microsoft edge a bit frustrating.

When you open a new tab, by default the cursor is not in the search bar. So you have to open a new tab, then click. This is not particularly intuitive after using chrome for years!

Thanks, I'll give it another go in due course

It won't activate with vista, you need Windows 7 sp1 or 8.1

Microsoft Edge is probably a bit like IE, You just use it once to download a better internet browser

ok not looking to start a new thread, and I am going to do further research, just posting to see if anyone has had a post Windows 10 install problem.

Mine being that when my HP goes into hibernation mode, it becomes unresponsive, the only way to it respond is to pull the battery out, and start up again, not good, further at least one program I know of goes back to factory settings when this happens, its done it twice today. Didnt seem to be an issue yesterday, but maybe I never left if alone for long enough.

Although, some people seem to be having issues with KIS2015 and W10. I've linked to the thread on the Kaspersky Lab Forums (apologies if this has already been mentioned previously).

If you upgrade to W8.1 then upgrade to W10, then you are allowed to clean install W10.
The License key is no longer needed then because your machine's details have been registered with MS

Right-click Start > System to see what you have.

Run Windows Update to get to 8.1

Further to my earlier post, I can run Windows 10 with the onboard VGA connection but that only has 64MB of RAM . Device manager won't detect my AMD (ATi branded) card and the monitor still displays the error message when Windows is booting via it.

Have you tried booting in low-resolution mode and fiddling around with the display settings?

I only registered for Windows 10 last night on my laptop so I don't have it as yet. I'm still using Windows 7 32GB version.

After four unsuccessful attempt ot upgrade my W7 Dell desktop, I uninstalled AVG Tune Up. That did the trick.

First impressions of W10 are good.

What does Control Panel > System and Security > System say is your exact version? And does it say SP1 anywhere?

Think I solved my issues. I did a clean install ready for Windows 10 but lost the upgrade option icon. So did another clean install / reset today and at the end of the reset was given a option to download Windows 10 and it went straight to start downloading

As this is a clean 8.1 install I assume it will upgrade fairly clean without any junk? I would have rather done a full clean install from scratch (Not a upgrade) but guess I can do this at a later date if I can download 10 to DVD?

I had though my over 4 year old laptop was a 32gb but its a 64gb version of windows 7 that it has and its Windows home premium with SP1 and 4gb of ram.
It's also running Celeron(R) dual-core CPU T3000 @ 1.80GHz 1.79.
Laptop is also an HP Compaq Presario.
It just popped up the free windows 10 upgrade is ready to be installed but I think I will leave it until the weekend to install it.

Jolly good. You should be suitable (I have a 5 yr old Compaq Presario myself)

See here for additional info http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...5#post79121455

If you have an external hard drive, you might want to make a System Image of W7 and all your stuff first, as a precaution.
