It may have no significance at all but watched The Unquiet Dead again last night and in the scene prior to the seance in the funeral parlour Gywneth talks about (I may have misheard even though I have played it back several times) Boomtown, which funnily enough is the title of ep 11.

If anyone views it again let me know if that is indeed what she says and whether you think it is just a coincidence or perhaps this is another clue....

The scene where she was talking to Rose? I watched it last night but I didn't hear that mentioned. I'll watch it again, though.

Here's an Episode 11 rumour...

Spoiler
Episode 11 - Boomtown. The Doctor and Rose return to contemporary Cardiff - where a foe they thought defeated is now after revenge on Rose.

I think she said 'Butetown' which, looking at a map, seems to be to the south or part of the south of Cardiff.

...and here's a rumour for the untitled Episode 12...

Spoiler
Episode 12 - Gamesworld. Earth, the future. TV audiences are hooked on the latest reality show - where famous figures from the past are put through deadly challenges. But who is behind the show, and what sinister purpose does it serve?

Yep, you're right. That was just before they started the seance.

That sounds more like ep 7...The Long Game

Ah! I most probably misheard then as it did sound like she was saying Boomtown. Oh well back to the drawing board! lol!

This thread is so interesting and has kept me occupied for hours! Thanks to all of those posting, you really have some great ideas and theories!

I've just visited the BBC website and there is a new section regarding the consiracy theory, it might provide some more clues, especially as the series progresses?

It is at http://www.whoisdoctorwho.co.uk/

That's what someone else said But here's the Episode 7 info from the same source...

Spoiler
Episode 7 - The Long game. The year 200,000. A broadcasting space station keeps all the worlds of the Earth empire in touch, a hub for all inter-galactic messaging. But what exactly is the sinister new controller of the station (Simon Pegg) up to?

Perhaps they're getting their Episodes mixed up?

So one episode for the tardis to identified as "bad wolf" for millennia, perfectly feasible, but my original thinking was that the tag would remain for several more episodes before the TARDIS went back in time and was involved in the timewars.

I am now thinking of going back to my original speculation that the tardis along with others (before/if they were wiped out) are "bad wolves". This would mean that the "bad wolf" graffiti isn't just another tag but written by someone who knew what "bad wolves" are/were.

That ties in with my, not altogether serious, 'Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf (The master's Tardis)' theory

What if "Bad Wold" simply becomes the accepted slang term for Superior Technology.

Why can't one of the Aliens in the next episode simply be marking the Tardis for destruction as it is superior to any of their technology ?

Although it's been pretty much discounted that this Doctor is actually the Master, in episode two when the Doctor fooled the steward with the "psychic paper", I actually thought "that's a very Master trick to do", as it almost looked like the steward was being hypnotised.

I with you on this theory of The Master. I am quite happy to be proved wrong but my hunch is he will turn up like the bad penny he is.

People have suggested that the BBC would have publicised his return but JNT never did when The Master made his dramatic reappearance in The Keeper of Traken so I reckon there are a few twists and turns in the bad wolf scenario still to be played out.

So, if that's an official BBC site, that means that Clive didn't get killed by the Autons. Curiouser and curiouser.

The site contains a tribute to the now dead Clive.

It also has a jokey reference to ghostly voices as a tribute to the Graham Norton sound leak!

All on this page of the site:

Yes, but the Master wouldn't bother with cheap mummery like psychic paper

He'd just stare into their eyes and completely mesmerise them sir!

I think the Master will return too!

And I doubt they'd publicise it - in fact, it would be the one thing they'd keep as quiet as possible about... even more so if CE is playing the role.

It does sound like episode 7.....

Anyone else thinking they're going to use a timescoop for this show and pluck 'real' celebrities out of the past?

As the transmission date for eps 11 onwards looms nearer I think the BBC publicity machine will really start going for it in terms of dropping subtle or not so subtle hints as what to expect.

There was a pic on the BBC website a while back on their WhoSpy feature of someone who was in the shadows and they said they couldn't reveal their identity as it would spoil it. Hm........

You might be correct with that one! Apparently the BBC have an 'unofficial arrangement' with the press to feed them tidbits and keep interest going.

I think, since it is said that the Doctor meets someone from his past who he thought was long dead, it will be the Master.

Reason: People will think it's too obvious and not believe it.

What's the easiest way of hiding something really well? Put it in full public view!

It sounds very similar to the 'Carnival of Monsters' from Pertwee's era. The Timelords banned timescoops because of the huge danger they could cause to the timelines.

OK - if people aren't buying the idea of the Master being the person that reappears from the Doctor's past, the only other person it might logically be is.....

Borusa!

Although I'm thinking it might be a little outside the scope of the new audience, it also might not. It introduces the concept that there are also 'rebel' timelords, not all of them want to help like the Doctor does.

He used a (forbidden) timescoop in The Five Doctors!

Although last seen coming to a gritty (sorry) end at Rassilon's hands, he WAS brought back by the TimeLords and given a chance to redeem himself and help Gallifrey during it's attack. (in the books, not onscreen).

Hmm...
