Absolutely gutted that all of the wembley gigs are cancelled, I don't think I'm meant to watch the foo fighters at wembley, 7 years ago the one week i was on holiday, they played wembley...

I have been checking the foo fighters forum and people are getting emails saying that a Friday we'll get all the info regards refunds.....No rescheduling???...

At the end of the day his health and full recovery is at most important...

Still gutted though!!

I like some of Florence's stuff but I can't see her putting 'asses in seats' as it were like the Foos

But with a week to go what could they have done I guess

Headlining Glastonbury is absolutely huge for any band in the world. Even at this late stage, there would have been many huge bands or solo artists around the world who would have jumped at the chance.

But no, Eavis has taken the safe easy route of Florence and the machine. Dont get me wrong, I like her music, bit she is NOT a headliner in a million years.

You simply can't get a replacement headine act for something like Glastonbury with little more than a week's notice.

It is a big deal but 10 days is simply not long enough for any band to prepare for that. It's not just a case of a band saying yes. Especially when you look at huge festival headliner bands which have huge crews transporting all their equipment. That can take months to plan and organise before they even head out on the road. People can say they should have gotten xxxxx band but with such short notice it's no way logistically possible.

I know they didn't have much time but Jesus, what a poor replacement.

I took a look at the bill

Lionel Richie
Paul Weller
Mary J Blige
Motorhead
The Chemical Brothers

All good contenders I think (IMHO)

I'll still listen to Florence regardless

Paul weller is in London on the Friday
Chemical brothers have a gig in Belgium on the Thursday. Might not be back in the country by Friday evening .
Lionel Ritchie has a gig in London on the Thursday and in Dublin on Saturday and I doubt he would be willing to do 3 gigs in a row at his age (no offence to the man)
Mary j blige was originally 4th on the bill. Pushing her from 4th to headline kind of undermines her original position and unfair on those who got originally billed higher than her
Motörhead is the same. Plus I saw them headline at bloodstock a few years back. It was a bit of a shambles (finished early, kept coming on and off) so would have to vote no on that. Decent as a sub headliner though
