Seems such a shame that they saw fit to kill off a young character to whom we were becoming increasingly fond, rather than some of the old dead wood (I won't name names here).

Maddie has been a breath of fresh air since she arrived on the scene, to say nothing of the fact that we've see Sophie happy at last. But oh no, the writers have got to put a stop to all this happiness and kill off the poor girl. Her death, several yards from a small blast from the builder's yard, was not very convincing either, which makes her demise all the sadder to viewers.

They should have got rid of the demon child Amy really, she's not much use here.

Did the Maddie actress choose to leave because of other upcoming work commitments, or was it really a case of the producers wanting to bring more misery on the Websters?

I think the actress wanted to move on. They could have left the door open for her but obviously decided not to. I agree though, she was a good young actress and I had become very fond of the character. It was a shame to see her go.

I think they made a big mistake killing her off, same with Tina. It's odd though because Stuart Blackburn has said numerous times that he adored the character! Why not leave the door open for her? She had so much potential

Well it was that or leaving Sophie and departing in a cab. You do realise the actress quit and they didn't axe her?

I think she had to go as the character of Maddie had been ruined. She came in as a lying, thieving tramp; then, overnight, her character was changed to that of Saint Maddie of Wetherfield. There was really nothing else they could do with her. I hope the actress is more successful in any new role she takes.

If they do a zombie version of Corrie, she might come back.

Along with Albert Tatlock, Jack Duckworth, and Len Fairclough.

She was a part of the Websters Family. Even Sally liked her. I am sad to see her go, but she is such a good actress she would be wasted if she stayed in a soap forever.

The actress wanted to move on and I cant blame her - stuck in the role of BORING Maddar who was brought in for a story but as usual kept on and became totally pointless, just an appendage to the Shouty Selfish Sophie. The actress has got other work lined up and good luck to her, she aint one that has to stick to the Corrrie gravy train as her acting is too abismal to get work elsewhere.

Indeed. If folk decide to leave a soap they and viewers have to expect they will be killed off to create a bit of drama. The producers must give it some thought e.g. Tina, who wasn't originally going to be killed off.

That'll be a totally hilarious reference to the charge that Peter Adamson was completely cleared of...?

She was leaving, so I guess it was for shock effect.

I remember how unpopular she was when she started, but like Kylie, I said she's probably grow on people over time. That was their intention, I think.

Yes, presumably. Utterly pathetic isn't it?

If Sian had any common sense she wouldn't.
