EE: Masood is just so wrong!
He's never known before now of his granddaughter's existence but suddenly he raves on about her being part of his family and wanting her 'back'!
Shabnam is the one person in all this who should have the final say .. it was her child after all. She was crystal clear to her father in proclaiming that she wanted nothing to do with that part of her life and that, if he so much as tried to contact the foster family, she would never speak to him again. Even the mild mannered Tamwar has been unequivocal in his views on the subject, in full support of his sister. And yet .. and yet Masood goes right on ahead and stirs up the hornet's nest. Then, having gone so far and realised that maybe, just maybe, Shabnam would be as good as her word, he bottles it and places the entire burden onto Shirley, about whom he holds a particularly low opinion! Not only that, but this storyline just gets sillier. You can't just march up to a foster family and demand to see the child in their care! The child will have been placed there after all due processes of law, so what are the writers thinking? (Answer: They're not). |

It doesn't feel right.. But Zainab isn't here so Masood is only doing what Zainab would have done if she was here. Zainab would be so proud of Masood's actions and I'm devastated that she's not involved in this storyline

Masood was being ridiculous last night, ordering Shirley to "go and get" Roya/Jade. Does he really think it's that simple?

I agree, with the OP. Masood should have left it, like Tamwar said.

That really was ridiculous and stupid, and he's behaving disgustingly. Who the hell does he think he is.

I think Masood is just desperate to make contact but doesn't want to lose Shabnam. I don't think he (or Shirley) are silly enough to think they can just walk in and take Jade, the whole point was that he wanted Shirley to establish some form of contact between her and Jade and fight to get custody of her, and therefore he would have contact also. I like this side of Masood, the flawed, complex, controversial side - much more interesting than usual. I'm hoping that this story may lead to a return for darker Masood - drinking, gambling etc...
I think Shirley had actually listened to Buster and was going to keep away but with Linda refusing to allow her to see Ollie, in conjunction with Masood pushing her to visit, she succumbed. |

I couldn't believe when Shirley literally forced her way into a strangers house with no real explanation and told the little girl "I'm your grandma". I know its soap and things have to be dramaticised but I thought that was a bit ridiculous.

Not one thought to the girl or the foster family. I'm sure they'll make the foster family awful to justify it, but it's ridiculous that both Shirley and Masood are behaving the way they're behaving so far. |

It was done this way with Shirley and Masood to add drama. The aim is to get people talking.

Initially I thought Mas was way out of order, but after listening to him last night I changed my mind. He said that he didn't know if Jade is happy where she is, and he wants her to know that she has a family that love her. So even though he has been impulsive his hearts in the right place....he needs to know that she's OK.
