I despair at some of the silly names adopted by contemporary groups.

Why can't they have something sensible like they did in the sixties, like, "The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band?"

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin is a band I often quote when it comes to fantastic names

Egyptian Hip Hop I found while trying to find hip-hop from Egypt.

The aforementioned Gorky's Zygotic Mynci is another great one

Very well-known pop trivia question but it fits the thread: what famous band with a silly name is named after a Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band song?

Spoiler

I can think of a few, most of these go way back.

Irving Mills and his Hotsy-totsy Gang aka 1920's Duke Ellington
Seven Foot Dilly and his Dill Pickles 1930's hillbilly band
B.F. Goodrich Silvertown Cord Orchestra 1920's dance band
Cactus Pryor and his Prickly Pears 1950's country band
Gid Tanner and his Skillet Lickers 1930's hillbilly band
The Dicks a punk rock band from Salt Lake City

I always thought 'Wet, Wet, Wet' was a bad name. It did aptly describe much of their musical output though.
