What I mean by my title. Could Dtc be loosing the support of the audience. What I mean by that when Kirkwood and Newman was in charge I think they both left cause they got slaughtered rightly so from the fans. Now slowly it looks like that's what's happening with dtc. Once you loose support from the audience your in trouble.

Agreed. Who is the Head of Drama at BBC they should be reigning him in?!! John Yorke and Mal Young were brilliant at this when EE was in its prime.

I Don't think the beeb will get rid if him, unless the ratings constantly hit 3million, but I wish a better producer would come in.

He is loosing more and more support. I hope he gets sacked. If all viewers either switch off or complain surely they will bave to act. Im rapidly going of shirley bow as the whole show with only a couple of storylines not featuring her. Its becoming the shirley carter show. This format does not work for whatbis SUPPOSED to ve an essamble piece.

Also i hope danielle And QUIT as she would be roght to do so.

You'll be waiting a long, long time for all 5-7 million viewers to either switch off or complain.

And I find it unpleasent that you actively wish for someone to lose their job. How would you feel if someone wished for you to get the sack?

Lola could well return after a couple years break. DTC is probably approaching the halfway point of his reign. I think people are worrying over nothing. In the meantime just enjoy the entertaining storylines and be thankful the days of the main characters hiring a hitman one week to kill someone, then playing football with them the next week while derek shags Kat are over.

Hell keep mick, linda, dean, phil, sharon, ian and jane.

I cannot stand phil, sharon, jane or mick currently and going of shirley since its every story comes to be about her eventually.

That just leaves ian and linda. Linda has fallen to a secondary characrer in her own storyline which is disgusting

I don't think there is anything to worry about....there was far more outcry and uproar about the baby swap, the moon dominance and Kirkwoods initial reign, yet he continued to lead the show for almost 18 months following that.

On the whole, dtc's work seems to have gone down just fine. There was a problem with carter overexposure and block storytelling last year but that has significantly evened itself out now. Yes shirley has been in more episodes than any other character, but story wise she's been just as exposed as Phil, sharon, Ian and jane have the last year or so.

I agree and Shirley will be off screen for about two months shortly.

DTC makes more bad decisions than good ones . He has always been overrated and now more people are seeing that and not a minute too soon as far as I am concerned . I can't wait until he leaves.

I agree Shirley is a big problem but then so are the Carters in general. If Shirley isn't shoehorned into almost every plot then we have to endure Mick and Linda's boring marriage or the dull and lifeless droning of Nancy.

In fairness the storylines for the other characters aren't great either but at least it feels like EastEnders when it's about the Mitchells, Beales, Masoods, etc. rather than some monotonous Carter spin off starring Danny Dyer and Linda Henry.

I don't think he's in trouble. He spent 2014 building up to live week, which was fantastic and I believe the first half of 2015 is being used to set up a big autumn/winter.

We already know there's huge stories to come with Stacey's key, Kathy's return, Sharon's Dad, Claudette becoming the matriarch of the square, part two of the Lucy story and it feels like we're building up to big Masood / Ronnie stories. There's also going to be the issue of caring for a child with C.F and the introduction of a trans character.

It can't be all guns blazing constantly, sometime they need a calm before the storm to build up stories.

I can't believe some people. So the show is currently going through a bit of a slow patch (soaps do in summer) and now all of the sudden people are calling for DTC's head, just weeks after Eastenders cleaned up at the Soap awards, and have just celebrated their 30th anniversary with a massive live episode that brought in up to 12 million viewers.

Storylines can't be fantastic all the time (and for what's it worth, I think the show is still pretty good). Why don't you wait to see what happens in the autumn when the big storylines should hit our screens before writing DTC off?

Now I know why Shirley has been put in the B&B with Dean. When it's not all about the Carters in The Vic, it's all about the Carters in the B&B... And now I see Tina is living with the Jackson's. They'll be no escape soon! Clever thinking though.
