With Lola axed could we soon be meeting a certain Courtney Mitchell. She will be 18 this year after all, perfect time for her to come in and make a big impression. DTC perhaps thought that having both Lola and Courtney within the Mitchells wouldn't work and is simply making space. Whilst I am gutted Lola is going if we are about to meet Courtney and with the right actress playing her then that would really soften the blow.

It would be nice but why would she come back? Would she really want to return to Walford to stay with her bullying uncle Phil?

Courtney Mitchell would be a great addition to the Mitchells. Her backstory is steeped in one of the most iconic soap couples of the 90s in Grant and Tiffany. I think it said a lot that they managed to find great female partners for Grant after Sharon, like Tiffany, Lorraine, Louise Raymond, Kathy and always brilliant with mum Peggy.
Courtney I'm sure wouldn't be a huge fan of Sharon, given what her Nan has no doubt told her about her. I can just picture Peggy sitting there, drink in hand on Sharon and Phil's wedding day, regaling Courtney with the tawdry details of "what that Sharon did" to her boys. And probably manage to convince Courtney, that if Sharon hadn't messed her father's head up the way she did, he would have been nicer to her mum and maybe things might have been better.
I think I'd like to see Courtney, before we see Louise. I don't think Louise would voluntarily come back to Walford after the nightmare her father became the last time she stayed with him.

The return of 18 year old Courtney definitely has potential but I think we'd need a brief return from Grant or Peggy to make it work. Why would Courtney show up in Albert Square otherwise? She has never been close to her uncle Phil or cousin Ben so her showing up to live with them wouldn't make much sense. I think we'd need Peggy to come back for a visit from Portugal (as a Grant return is highly unlikely) and she could maybe bring Courtney with her then when Peggy leaves Courtney decides to stay in Walford. I'm sure Courtney would provide some drama for Phil and Sharon, she would no doubt have a grudge against Sharon having learnt that Sharon was her fathers true love and not her mother. I could see her forming a bond with Kathy as well as Kathy was her aunt by marriage at the time of her birth and spent a lot of time around her as a baby, she would probably feel quite protective of her and look out for her in the absence of a mother in her life. She could also be a love interest for Jay maybe?
