Has she even done any promotion? I've seen none at all.

She was 26 on sales, streaming dragged her down.

I've said before streaming will work like this:

Popular = More Popular
Not so popular = Less Popular

Chart wise, so it's made the charts even more stagnant, woo.

She is dull and the song was duller so this is a good outcome

Shocked, is anybody expecting it to rise up next week or will that be its peak?

As usual she is getting no radio support. Shame because it's not like the charts are full of good music at the moment. most of the top 20 is pretty generic and dull anyway.

As I said on another thread, on the Showbiz Blind Gossip, a post which everyone assumed related to her.

The singer's ex record company's Mr. Big was telling radio stations not to play the new release.

Hardly shocking, the song is around 5 years out of date with that rolling, hand clap beat made most successful by Adele's Rolling In The Deep.
If she had a better song then I'm sure the chart position would reflect that.

If he could do that, why didn't he make the record stations play releases from her last album?

It didn't deserve to chart any higher than this. It's an awful single.

Simon Cowell or Syco had nothing to do with it. The song didn't get airplay because it's an awful single.

She is on a new label but she is still clueless and so are the people who are advising her. When you are releasing singles with an acapella intro you know you are clueless.

She got plenty of radio support for One More Sleep. FUMF just isn't very good and doesn't sound current.

Leona's management have made an almighty shambles of it all already. She needed a lead single which sounds current and summery, not this boring, dated dirge of a single. Radio are less likely to support future releases after this single as well now.

One More Sleep only started getting radio support as it was going up the charts (and also the fact that it was a xmas song helped). I don't think the song is out of date, there are still plenty of songs of that style being released.

I'm not surprised, it's dire. Bleeding Love was such a fluke. I remember some people were tipping her as the next Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston. I've never really got her. Her music is as beige as her personality.

It also works that it's the top 20-40 chart that usually contains the top 20 most continually over played songs on the radio airplay chart ( main culprits Capital and Heart) charts too, the songs stick around forever to the detriment of newer, fresher songs charting.
The top 20 ends up being stale and boring.

Its a shame Mr Big has such an influence on radio stations if thats true.He dimisses all of his acts when they stop making him money.Im so glad Will Young saw through him and stuck with Simon Fuller.

I think this is her worst single to date, so the position does not surprise me.

Actually think its a cracking song and a real departure for her, but the technical production is pretty poor. The song needs to have considerably more dynamic depth to give it the energy that it looks like they were seeking, instead the production have over compressed it to death, simply to make it 'sound loud'. The result makes it sound a lot more bland than it should. Decent production is lacking here. My own personal view.

Such a bland clinical voice. She hasn't got the following any more. Why anyone is surprised by this is beyond me. The single buyers moved on from her years ago. Christmas singles don't count.

Thank goodness, awful single. So drab and b-side Adele.

I'm not surprised it's not getting any air play, I would probably switch the radio off.

However, her second single is much better IMO.

It's had quite a lot of plays on Radio 2 and Magic. Heart hasn't played it though.

I'll always be a big fan of her but I'm not surprised about this to be honest. Not feeling her new direction at all and I think Syco buggered up her chance for a real shot at stardom beyond repair. Her time has been and gone. The public clearly lost interest years ago.
