Characters who are more likeable around certain people
Basically, people you usually don't like or annoy you but they work surprisingly well with one or two other characters, or even completely away from people they normally associate with.
Mine are: Mick Carter when he's around Ian Beale and (seriously) Alfie Moon before he left. The last one is odd, as I know Alfie isn't that popular on here, but for some strange reason both Danny and Shanes' scenes worked well IMO. At the moment, Roxy Mitchell around anyone other than Charlie Cotton. She was great when Christian was around as her gay best mate. I really like her interactions with Jane and this week we know how interesting she is with Masood around. Another one is Sonia Jackson who I normally don't care about, but with Tina she's actually more likeable to me. On Hollyoaks, I can't stand Robbie Roscoe about 85% of the time, but I do really like when he's around Phoebe McQueen (hope she pulls through!). |

Great thread.
I prefer Linda and Mick with other people, eg Sharon and Alfie, Nancy with the Masoods. |

Agree about Roxy, far better away from Charlie and she really needs a buddy the way she did with Christian.

I like Shirley with Denise/Kim/Patrick - Shirley is basically part of the Trueman/Fox clan. Buster and Tina also bring out her nicer side. I liked her relationship with Nancy and Mick before it went sour.
Linda is better away from her family and is more likable with other female characters. Fatboy with Mrs B. |

She likes her "young boys" don't she?? I've begun to find her a bit cliched in recent years, but these younger actors seem to lighten her up. Nasty Nick had the opposite effect. I dislike Phil on his own or with male characters, but I actually find him more bearable around Sharon. The onscreen chemistry between the 2 characters seem to work well. |

In Hollyoaks, Lindsey when she is around anyone OTHER THAN the Roscoes, Mercedes and Cindy. I like Mercy and felt she was dragged down having her as a mate, though they've seemingly fallen out now. With the Roscoes and Cindy, they all make it worse for each other.

Both Kim and Kat have a tendency to annoy me at time, but I really liked their scenes together.
Fatboy has a very sweet side around Dot, and I also think Alfie is best around Ian and Mick. |

Megan Macey was always very likeable in her scenes with Declan/Robbie. She's great in scenes with friends still, but when she's around Jai and Archie I can utterly loathe her sometimes.

Great thread.
- It's scary how much I love Linda with Sharon and AWAY from the Carters. - I like Nancy and Lee away from the Carters also. - I like the Mitchells when they're all together. - Love Ben and Jay (although that kiss kind of ruined them for me a bit) - I like when Tamwar finds himself talking to a random character. |

I agree OP re Alfie. I couldn't stand Alfie most of the time and hated him with Kat however I always liked his friendship with Ian and when he shared scenes with Ian I found him strangely likeable.
Same applies to Sharon I cannot stand her with Phil but love her with Ian and to a lesser extent Linda. Shirley is also great in scenes with Denise or in fact anyone outside of her family. |
