Again though, the radio tour will be pointless. She's not going to visit Radio 1 or Capital after they snubbed her song completely. Same as Heart. So she'll most likely visit the same radio stations - Magic, Radio 2 and so on. Im so glad theres another radio tour as it means more interviews, but I can't see it doing anything.

ALS sounds much darker, production wise anyway, so it would make no sense (imo) for them to release that as the album launcher during summer - not when they have something summery, fun, vocally great, uptempo like I Got You.”

The production of "The Way We Are" is much more similar to ALS imo, it's dance/verging slightly into gagrage. "I Got You" is very AC-orientated, with the foundation of the production being a piano and it has a strong gospel/soul feel to it.

She is using her fame and money to change the world and that is amazing. We are getting new music from her soon and that is all we should care about. If it charts well, it'll be amazing and we can be proud. The vicious media need to see the real picture.”

Of course, Leona cares about chart success, like any other singer. Without that she will not have a label. And I don't think she wants to go the indie route at this point in her career.

The other sad fact about the music business is that if a label feels that a single or album is underperforming, they are not going to promote more. They will promote less. Promotion costs money.

It's still early days for this era, though, and the second single may reverse things. I'm really anxious to hear the whole album.

Oh but I don't think she's going on another one though this week It is weird she didn't do stations like InDemand etc? I thought they'd back up Leona but they haven't played her either.

That regional tour didn't seem pointless to me. It had 19mill listeners in total, that's why it did good in Ireland too. I think every small bit could help in the future. They had the privilege to get a celeb on their local show so they might support her through the whole era

I agree with you about radio 1 and Capital but Heart have played FUMF over a 100 times combined

Yeah! I don't get why the sudden lack of support from places that have supported her a lot in the past?! It's not down to bad material or anything, but it just makes me wonder that why an artist on a label that is known to have great radio connections is getting played so little by the radio's that matter!

It's 19 million in total, and I completely get that sounds like a lot. But it's 19 million that dont appear to have any effect towards the chart - whereas Capital, Radio 1, Heart and so on do, despite maybe not having as much listeners. I dunno. It's just a weird situation as the song is perfect for radio!

They haven't played it once yet:

They still play "Run", "Bleeding Love" and ocasionally "Better In time" though.

I disagree. What Leona cares about is touring, she's never been shy admitting that but she obviously gets that touring comes with success. I don't think she's like Gaga, Jessie J, Nicki Minaj who all follow their iTunes progress through Kworb.

It's ok for your singles to flop if your album sells. See Rebecca Ferguson's Heaven and most of Paloma Faith's releases. That's why I stress that the second single is important because the album needs a good launch sales wise so the label keep investing.

Lmao I hate how good "I Got You" & "Another Love Song" are. They keep chopping and changing to which one I prefer. So excited to hear them in HQ!!!

I agree about I Got You but I think Essence of Me would completely bomb in the charts (but then I'm not a lover of X Factor-style ballads so I'm not the best person to ask). I think I Got You is catchy. That's all she needs One More Sleep was catchy which had one really great bit of promo. For me, FUMF is really well written for people who listen to music with live instruments but I think it doesn't grab you in a way. It feels like it should but it doesn't. It might just be me, I don't know. I'm not sure why some didn't like IGY. IGY sounds absolutely sick. If I heard that and didn't know it was Leona, I would Shazam it right away and I think a lot of people would as well.

Just watched FUMF at G-A-Y for the first time. Really really, great performance. It is a really great song and I always forget when I don't listen to it. Loved the dance. It made the song sound so much more fun. If she did this on TV (but I'd like her to keep the piano at the beginning) the song would do a lot better I think.

What TV shows could she perform on that are coming up soon?

Irish charts update on Friday. FUMF was released in Ireland on a Monday, missing 3 days of sales. I think it will be in Top 100 this Friday as it is still in iTunes Top 100 since release date.

Syco would have scheduled a lot of promo for maybe 1-2 weeks and then forget the song existed and let her go back into the shadows until the album comes out and there wouldn't be a 2nd single. With Island, the first week isn't the most important. The radio tour may have been smaller, regional stations because they have bigger ones planned for around the impact date. Promo will steadily increase. You can't say they gave up on it when it's only been a week and we don't know what they have planned.

And before anyone says that the problem is that we don't know what they have planned so they could have nothing planned at all, Island isn't like that. They seem to move a lot more behind the scenes then we're used to. Remember we knew about John Bishop for awhile but they didn't announce the contest for the tickets until like a week or a couple days before the taping? Anything can happen any day.”
