If you dont know who she is, she's on loose woman and played Tracey in birds of a feather.

She would come in part of a brand new family who have some kinda connection with another family on the square, this will give them instant interaction.

Its time for a new family, its gone a bit stale.

Tbh I'm so bored with new characters and celebrity signings now. They need to focus on the cast they've got and actually produce some gripping storylines.

I don't think it's the cast that's the problem, it's the ridiculous, contrived, slow paced and flat storylines.

I think it will improve come Autumn though. It always does. Or we'll have an explosive 2016, maybe?

There were rumours that Linda Robson was being lined up to play Ronnie and Roxy's mother. I can't see it, myself.

She is an awful actress though? She can do very light hearted sort of ok, Anything serious and she is terrible

Watch Birds of a feather when there is a crying or act sad scene and she is appalling

I disagree, I saw her in a play and she was excellent, she is an actress of good quality.

Was that before they cast Glynis Barber as Glenda? Linda's Glenda would have made the character completely different. Glynis is pretty glam, still has her youthful looks and played Glenda as flighty and easy going yet manipulative and bitchy.

With Linda in the role I think we'd get more of a down to earth mumsy vibe from her.

Not sure which I'd prefer to be honest! I liked Glenda but felt that she didn't really work as the mother of Ronnie and Roxy or as the ex wife of Archie, particularly when he then moved on to Peggy!!!!!!

Yes this was before Glynis Barber was cast. Even Glynis was not their first choice to play Glenda; they had initially cast Jill Gascoine in the role, and I believe she even filmed a few episodes before deciding she wasn't right for the part and withdrawing.

I can't imagine Linda in the role of 'bitchy Glenda' so I'm glad they finally went with Glynis.

Exactly what I was going to say, she is obviously a lovely woman but not an actor by any means....

She was in the EastEnders war time spin off "Civvy Street" years ago (essentially EastEnders during the war)

Acting on stage in a play where you get plenty of rehearsal time and giving the same performance every night actually takes different skill sets to acting in a soap. Just because you are good at one doesn't necessarily mean you will be good at the other.

I have to say that I agree that I don't think she has a decent range as an actress, her dramatic performances were woeful in my opinion. There is no denying she and Pauline Quirke had chemistry, that's what made BOAF so watchable back in the day.

If she was ever given a role in EE, something I find unlikely I would give her a chance like any other actor, I would just hope she delivers better than her stint in the bill which was just awful.

Pauline Quirke definitely had some duff moments during BOAF but has given some absolutely amazing performances in some of her other roles. Sadly the same cannot be said for Linda, I don't recall ever seeing her in anything!
