No Bioshock??
What a total let down. Ever since they mentioned the likes of black ops and Bioshock would be coming next I've been waiting and now like most of us, disappointed.

...but sometimes they don't really do themselves any favours. After the November titles were announced and mentions were made re Bioshock and BlOps, it would have been the easiest thing in the world to address the expectation that these were coming in December. Their own wording was what led many to that conclusion in the first place...

The full quote was; Quote:
Our launch of 104 titles on Nov. 12 is just the beginning. You can expect new Xbox One Backward Compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December. More titles are on the way, including fan favorites like Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3. Stay tuned because this just the beginning of a long list of Xbox 360 games that will run on Xbox One.
It's not difficult to see why many thought Black Ops and/or Bioshock were coming this month. Beyond the ambiguous language though, they could have addressed the rampant expectation on the Xbox forums where talk of Black Ops and Bioshock in December has been discussed as almost a matter of fact since the November announcement. BC is a brilliant concept, and a big thumbs up to MS for going down this route, but they can hardly be surprised at people voicing disappointment when thus far they haven't actually delivered into live a single game within the top 40 requested titles. |

I reckon they are still tweaking the emulator for backwards compatability. Probably all the full games suffer from frame rate issues like in gears.
And yeah boooooo for no halo wars. Think I added another 6 more games

ME2 and ME3 would be ideal. Add CoD4 and RDR and that would have me retiring mine as well!

BC is great but folk making such a big thing over certain titles are looking at a "tail wagging the dog" situation... |

Disappointing about Bioshock but a replay of Halo Reach will keep me going for a bit

Cod4 and I don't think any of my other games would get a look in!!
![]() mred2000, I hear what you're saying, but given that MS tout the XB forums as being a key communication tool between themselves and the playing community, I still think they could have corrected the 'assumption' at any point in the past month. However the original language was used, clearly, people HAVE misinterpreted them. Again, from the forums, and through Major Nelson's Twitter engagement, this must have been perfectly obvious to MS. Of course MS are under no obligation to do so, but it hardly endears themselves to the community when they seemingly don't see the value in keeping expectation levels realistic, or in check. And of course, the community is under no obligation not to be disappointed when the list of games announced isn't what they thought it might be. As for 'tail wagging the dog' - that's what happens when they set up a poll asking what games people wanted

Very disappointed.
The Backwards compatibility was trumpted just over 6 months ago with talk about many games being made compatible. So here we are and only a handful of "full games" (ie not arcade games) are backward compatible Sadly, "this next gen Xbone" seems to have been disappointing in terms of delivery: from the first OS being way behind that of the 360, the initial lack of proper headphone support plus the laggy gaming experience (not solved by the famous dedicated servers) and now the backwards compatibility roll out!!! The improved graphics are great but beyond that I don't really see much improvement. |

To actually expect a large selection of these games to be made playable on the XB1 so soon is silly, especially as the 3rd party publishers need to give Microsoft permission to port the games. |

Understand I may be a little impatient when reading the two replies above. However, it has been launched 6 months ago (as we can see from earlier pages of this thread ) and if the above article is true, then once permission is granted from the producer, then making the game backwards compatible should be very easy....Anyway, we are in the same boat that we are all waiting for more games to become backwards compatible

They can hold big names back and use them to tie in with new releases. Example - PlayStation have COD marketing now, so MS might add MW2 when the next game is revealed, capturing a slice of the press attention. You can only play so many games at once. No point releasing 1000 games at the same time so everything gets lost in the crowd. It might be frustrating but it's in MS's best interest to make us wait. |

I think the fact of it been easy and just flicking a button to allow backwards compatibility is a myth. This has been shown by the awful performance of halo reach which they are trying to sort out.

Couple of questions!
1 - Do Back Compat games actually look better on the Xbox One- thinking of replaying Assassins Creed 2 on my Xbox One but wondered if I would notice any graphical enhancements?! 2-Do Back Compat games also offer achievements on the Xbox One?! |

You boot up the game and it basically switches to 360 mode and the games looks as they did on the 360... they're exactly the same games, not enhanced versions. I think they still have X360 achievements which still add to your gamerscore... but no specifically new XB1 achievements... |

I have a question.
I have 2 profiles on my 360, one is a gold account, one isn't, that obviously means that one can play online and the other one can't. Now, if i move both profiles on to my Xbox One, they can both play Xbox One games online because all you need is 1 gold account on the console. So does the same apply to Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One, can you play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One with a silver account as long as you have a gold account on the system ? |

i do think they are better than they were on the 360. mass effect now has no screen tearing, no texture, pop in and the load times are greatly reduced

Hmmmmm. Take it we are not one of the select regions then?.
I think it is better to release these as and when rather than in batches though. Might look at soul calibur, loved that back in the day. |
