Just hit the menu and view buttons together on the controller and this brings up the 360 mini guide.
Is there anyway of telling if I have this game or will it download once the preview program supports it? |

see how they said all your old games would be free to download ?
I don't get it, is it as long as I've played a game before and have all the achievements etc then I will automatically be able to download it again? even without the actual games or saves anymore? I'm thinking of buying some cheap 360 games pretty soon as I would imagine shops might put prices back up a little bit on the old 360 games once this becomes popular? |

As I am downloading the free 360 game for the month from the website as cant figure out how to do it via console as just lets me get x box one games. On the website it says it will download as soon as i sign onto my 360 profile and as I cant see if its been done I thought i might be able to if i can see my 360 dashboard.
To the other poster just DM and ill send you an invite Quote:
Excellent thank you. Sadly it dosent show what I need. I have downloaded Thief from X Box website as its the free 360 game for the month. Its not supported on the preview programme yet and its not in my download queue.
Is there anyway of telling if I have this game or will it download once the preview program supports it? If/when it is added to the list of supported games, you would have to go to your Games and Apps, and go all the way to the right hand side of the Games section - it would show up there as available to download. If you had a 360 game as a disc, then you'll be able to download it once it is supported by the backward compatibility *if you still have the disc*. Only cloud saves will carry over - if you had saves on a 360 HDD or other storage, they will be lost unless you still have a 360 and move them to the cloud save storage. |

while i find the backwards compatibility an excellent feature because i love replaying old games. if you play mass effect its not a perfect emulation. the load and save times are alot quicker which is awesome as mass effect had lots of loading screens and the texture pop in what it is famous for is gone as well all excellent problems though are the frame rate it all ticks along fine until you get in a battle with a few enemy's on screen and the frame rate takes a plunge to almost unplayable. yes i understand its in preview but they will need to replicate the frame rate alot better

Just had a message via Xbox Live -
Thank you for participating in the Xbox One Preview program and helping us test Backward Compatibility! We’ve received great feedback from participants thus far and are working hard on several improvements to the experience. We’d like to let you know about an upcoming change that will require action on your part. If you have installed any of the titles listed below, please read on for info on how to keep playing: Viva Piñata Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise Perfect Dark Perfect Dark Zero Kameo: Elements of Power Jetpac Refuelled Banjo-Kazooie Banjo-Tooie If you have any of these titles, you’ll need to uninstall and reinstall the title to continue playing. For assistance uninstalling titles, please refer to this page on Xbox Support. Once you’ve uninstalled the title, you can reinstall it from My games & apps > Games > Ready to Install. NOTE: Reinstalling a title won’t impact its Xbox 360 saves. I wonder if there's any chance of sorting out compatibility for PAL disc users? |

I expect it's no coincidence that those games are part of Rare Replay.

the backwards compat 360 games are not free you have to own them.
they are making a big thing of the backwards compatibility feature being free because playstation now isnt. the games them selves that use the feature are not free |

Some big-name publishers confirmed to be supporting BC include Sega, Capcom, 2K, Bethesda, Warner Bros, EA, Square Enix, Bandai Namco and Ubisoft. Activision are, currently, notable in their absence. All those people voting for COD games may well be disappointed. At least for a while. |

That Xbox UK Facebook post? Seems to have a few people confused. It's free to play games you already own.

Bugger I've miss read it, I thought That games you previously owned could be downloaded, but it seems you still have to have use the disk to start the download, i traded my games in with my 360 when I got my ps4

yeah, you need the disc or a digital version of the game,in some cases though they can be picked up dirt cheap
I'm sure the price will creep up a bit for the titles that end up on the BC list. |

well mass effect backwards comnpat version had a 801mb update recently played it a bit today. the xbox 360 UI is now in HD rather than SD which it was previously. the update does seem to have affected the loading screens a bit not running smooth

EA are thinking about putting there backwards compatible games in the EA access vault.
this would make them only available to those with EA access membership. so much for not making you pay for games you already own |

Where did you hear that?!
I also don't see how it would make them only available to those who subscribe to EA Access. Xbox One games in the Vault aren't only available to EA Access members - everyone is still able to buy the disc or digital download version. Why would it be different for 360 games? Slap them in the Vault for EA Access members to have for free, while non-members have to buy the disc/download as normal. |

Having not owned a Xbox 360 but I own a Xbox One it is welcome news that games with gold is now offering xbox 360 games to be played on the Xbox One. While I understand that backwards compatability is not rolled out till November, am I correct in thinking I can download the 360 games now ready to play in November?
