It's blummin' gorgeous! I can't get enough of the stuff .

It's like Pepsi max but with a slightly aniseed flavour.

Anyone else a fan?

Yep, cheaper than Cherry Coke and it has a more cherry flavour that comes through last so it lingers whereas Cherry Coke it's the other way round so the aftertaste is more Coke than Cherry. Apparently it's been around since 2011 but last week is the first time I was aware of it so Pepsi are doing a piss-poor marketing job!

Conoisseurs swear by Wild Cherry Pepsi but it's not generally available in this country (and costs a bloody fortune as a result) so Cherry Pepsi Max will do very nicely.

Aniseed?

I think you mean bitter almond.

I like Cherry Pepsi. Just bought a bottle because they had no Cherry Coke.

Cherry coke has more of that slightly smokey cherry flesh flavour as well as bitter almond marzipan flavour, so I prefer it over pepsi.

I hate to be a spoilsport, but seriously, that is inevitably going to cause all kinds of health issues.

I think it's kind of nice. My local Costco has 24 can cases of them for under £6.

Why? I drink water as well along side it during the day, I have a healthy diet, do regular excersie and I don't smoke, life's for living bro and if I die at age 30 due to excessive Pepsi max cherry exposure I'll die happy.

From a drink with no sugar? I don't think so.

[quote]You may be thinking you can avoid many of the pitfalls of soda by switching to diet varieties, but the artificial sweeteners they contain are in many ways worse than fructose.

People who drink diet soft drinks daily may be 43 percent more likely to suffer from a vascular event, including a stroke or heart attack, for instance.5 Diet soda has also been linked to weight gain. In one study, diet-soda drinkers' waists grew 70 percent larger than the waists of non-diet soda drinkers. Furthermore, those who drank two or more diet sodas a day had a 500 percent greater increase in waist size!

Still other research revealed that mice eating food laced with the artificial sweetener aspartame (commonly used to sweeten diet soda) had higher blood sugar levels than mice eating food without it, which suggests it may increase your risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome.{/QUOTE}

I accidently bought a Cherry Cola by mistake in a shop. I took one swig and spat it out again. Cherry and cola do NOT mix. Grossness

You may be thinking you can avoid many of the pitfalls of soda by switching to diet varieties, but the artificial sweeteners they contain are in many ways worse than fructose.

Still other research revealed that mice eating food laced with the artificial sweetener aspartame (commonly used to sweeten diet soda) had higher blood sugar levels than mice eating food without it, which suggests it may increase your risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome.{/QUOTE}

There was an early study that suggested that drinking artificially sweetened beverages might lead to weight gain. However, this study wasn't actually designed to test for this, the correlation (and correlation does not imply causation) between diet drink consumption and weight gain was noticed as an additional possibility when reviewing the data.

Later studies specifically intended to investigate whether artificial sweeteners did promote weight gain have shown that they don't. Consumption of artificially sweetened drinks instead of sugar sweetened drinks reduces weight gain. See, e.g. http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1203034 or http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/100/1/36.short

TLDR; the claim that artificial sweeteners cause weight gain is revealed to be false when properly designed experiments are carried out.

When looking at cardiac events, you have to exclude non-causitive correlations. E.g. people who are overweight tend to drink more diet sodas, and also have more cardiac events. The diet soda is not necessarily a cause of the increased frequency of cardiac events, but a result of a common cause - being overweight.

When tested, consumption of too much sugar sweetened carbonated drinks was associated with increased risk of chronic kidney disease. However, artificially sweetened carbonated drinks weren't associated with increased risk of chronic kidney disease. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1...nticated=false

TLDR; another way in which sugar sweetened drinks are worse for you than artificially sweetened drinks.

However, there is some evidence that consumption of too much carbonated drink (however sweetened) may be bad for you in additional the weight gain due to drinking sugar sweetened drinks. E.g. a greater risk of stroke: http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/ea...1.030205.short
