I find her blatant lying a little unsettling and unpleasant, and unnecessary.
People with image issues, which I am sure Jack has, though he may deny it, are vulnerable to false praise and can be devastated when the truth comes out.

I think you should have switched off a long time ago. Surely none of this should be surprising? Not that I agree with it, but that is what the show is now.
