It makes me quite mad. Around the world, the best players win (whether its a HM vote like BBUSA or public one). Only here do you get negative points for playing the game.

It's like me going on Pointless and purposely losing. It makes no sense.

Marc is fantastic. He is not a 'bully' far from. BB1...its a game show with a prize! So for those who are annoyed at Marc. Please don't watch game shows. "How dare they want to win that 250k on Deal or No Deal!"

Must we always mention this on here?

So what you are really saying is that everyone should pretend they are in a house to make friends and not care about winning in a game show?

Everyone there are playing a game. Its a GAME SHOW. "he's a game player". No s*** sherlock. It's a GAME

In terms of BB I label a bully as somebody who picks on and ruins the Big Brother experience of another HM. Both Marc and Helen fit that category.

Wasn't Marc the very person complaining about housemates (Jack, Chloe and Danny) wanting to win the money?

It's HOW someone plays the game though. Arguably over here is more sophisticated than the American version; there they 'only' have to play the House - here they have to play the House and the public. In the Channel 4 years they seemed to do this - the Brian's, Kate, Pete and Josie especially and to a lesser extent Craig, Cameron, Anthony (best of a 'bad' lot), Rachel (placed here due to the Luxury Bedroom/B Block divide) and Sophie (I don't think anyone got all round public support that series; much like series 6). Mafia was the only winning Housemate who split the House and, to an extent, the public.

Since Channel 5 arrived the game has stepped up a notch. Aaron relied heavily on public perception and was relatively isolated in the House. Luke A and Sam won as the public went for relative normality over gameplaying/people splitting the House. I'd say these two were typical Channel 4 winners in a way. Helen was someone so far removed from the usual type of winner it's a slight surprise even now.

But the gameplaying is always and had always been there. It's just UK Housemates have to approach it differently to US House Guests.

I don't agree especially the last part. It's not how UK hms approach it. It's how UK VIEWERS respond to it.

No matter what type of game someone plays, UK viewers have an odd vendetta against anyone who wants to get involved. The US HGS are evil compared to the UK. If they were on BBUK death threats would be constant.

Watch one of the producers interviews on the 2010 BB documentary during UBB I think. She said "only in this country would people be hated for playing the game" and she's on the money!

but how is marc playing the game?, all i seem him do is shout and intimidate people. Surely to play the game within the house you have to get on side with people, avoid being nominated, and coast to the final. They will try and nominate marc the first chance they get.
Why are you getting so defensive about it?

I'm getting 'defensive' because after 34 series people still haven't grasped that it's a game. Coasting to the final is the worst excuse if a gameplan ever. If people want that they should attend a 'sprint' (a quick game show quiz) not a marathon (a long series).

And he is. He's planning on breaking up the 'core 5'.

That's as maybe but he and Helen are being cruel and spiteful - totally unnecessary.

No, he knows they all want to win the money but they pretend they have other motivations, like making friends. He was complaining about people being fake.

Marc was exposing people for being two faced which is fair. Helen was being spiteful because she hasn't lived with them so don't have any relationship ties. Marc however had ties so he is calling them out...and not aggressively.

Note he didn't raise his voice. Helen does, as does Danny and Jack.

So what if it's a game show with a prize? How does that make it ok for Marc to be a malicious, manipulative WUM?

Marc is a bully, and it should not be seen as a legitimate way to play the BB game.

It shouldn't be a problem that a HM wants to win. But, as with other games, it matters how they go about it.

how is coasting to the final not a good gameplan, it worked for sam evans?( he may not be a popular housemate on here but he still walked away with the £100,000) I think he's playing it the wrong you have your opinion and i have my opinion but don't tell me mines wrong when we are entitled to both

Marc does raise his voice.

Jack's voice seems to be always raised, so he can just continue at his normal bellow.

Why are you defending their behaviour? They are two nasty individuals who are being vindictive for the sake of it - Helen especially doesn't need to "play the game" as you put it because she can't win anyway. As for Marc - he has already lost.
