Why do the "legends" love Simon so much?

It's almost impossible to understand why a couple of hard-as-nails cynics like Helen and Nikki feel such a desperate need to protect Simon, with his constant self-pity, self-obsession, fake crying and whinging. He doesn't seem to make any contribution to the house, and the only thing going for him is that Marc loves him.

Wondering the same thing. Just been catching up on the past two shows and I'm gobsmacked with how horrendous the "legends" are and how twisted they see things. It's just weird. Simon is a complete embarrassment of a person, just a total bellend. I can barely stand to watch him it's so excruciatingly awful. So why on earth can't They see it??

my answer, because Simon isn't as daft as he seems, or else it is all scripted.

Simon has sussed the secret room and that Marc is there - hence the sucking up to Marc business. Of course dear Marc is all over Simon like a rash, he is one of the HMs that actually likes the prat.

A. They see much more than us through 24/7 LF
B. They can also see the pack mentality he's had to endure since day 1

He is isolated, so can be brought over to their side.

Simon's position didn't even make sense. There he was, winging and crying about being separated from Marc. But if Simon himself had been evicted, he would STILL have been separated from Marc! So, presumably what he was saying, without being honest about it, was that the only acceptable outcome would have been for Sam to be evicted! Why couldn't he just say that?

not sure about the other two but helen is glomming onto the concept of poor picked on Simon and how she is going to HELP him.

its pure manipulation of TV audience. See...i'm not THAT bad. I'm arguing but Only because they are horrible to Simon.

guess she's still on that journey

It's called emtotions. He felt sad about missing Marc and if he got evicted he would presumably of felt the same, maybe if Sam was evicted he would of voiced that he missed her aswell.

Close minded individuals can't understand emotions.

Because he has his head so far up Marc's ass, they can't tell where he ends and Marc begins. He loves Marc (didn't we see him cry when Marc left? Didn't we? He cried so much...), and Marc loves anyone who he thinks loves him, so the parts of conversations in the bunker that we didn't see will have no doubt gone along the lines of:

Marc: 'Simon's great, because he cried when I left, but I'm gonna finger blast the rest of 'em, apart from Jade, cause she fancied me when she was 18, and Joel, cause he's really funny..(i.e. he's kissed my ass daily since he first set eyes on me)'

Helen: 'Marc says Joel is really funny, but I don't see it myself. Maybe when I get in there and meet him I'll see it (i.e. he's Marc's friend so I'll have to pretend he's funny when I meet him)'

Marc: 'Jack was a bit too pleased that I'd gone, let's finger blast him!'

Helen: 'Yeah, the fat c**t'

Well we have to remember that they're the hired help and are paid to go in there for the benefit of BB, and are not actually housemates.

They don't love Simon.
They're just using him as a means to vilify Harry

I'd say that's the main reason.

And people forget somehow that Marc is playing for 150 grand. I don't buy his "i'm just a straight talker" act, although i admit it is incredibly convincing. A lot more convincing than his "It's just banter" act. Marc's feelings toward Simon are incidental, Marc needs an alliance and he's building one in a very smart way.

We don't have the 24/7 live feed that they have and can only go on what has been shown. Simon was OTT with "SHOWBIZ" when he first went in so that has put him offside with the public. They do gang up on him and will put him up for nomination and shout him down when he dared nominate Jack, saying his reasons were invalid.

Harry is sucking up to the "in group" so she doesn't get nominated not a bad strategy but she is using Nick who is 19 and has not a lot of life experience. It does make me cringe when I see the poor boy not knowing where to look or what to do as she deliberately flaunts her nudity. I am not one against nudity but there are several people in that house that are also not comfortable with it. The legends in the bunker have been watching the live feed and all have expressed it is just a bit too much.

I can understand emotions, and I'm not close minded, it's fake emotions that are hard to take and Simon is as fake as they come.
