Why are important meeting where you would want privacy always conducted in either the Bistro or Rovers or even Roys? I have never held a meeting in the local pub. Yesterday silly schoolgirl Ayla met yet another underwear client in the Bistro and got very offended over a pretty innocent remark. Of course in steams half witted Jason who has been ear wigging to their convesation, which of course is the precusor for these two to end up in bed together.

Yes, I didn't know what we were supposed to make of that incident. The man made the obligatory flattering remark about the underwear, not even directed at Alya, and she practically did a citizen's arrest.

Was he meant to be a sleazeball? Is she meant to be over-sensitive/feisty/all mixed up over her dead dad/a radical feminist/a bad businesswoman? (And to anyone who says "All of them, duh, because life isn't simple" - shouldn't you be watching Ibsen?!)

My heart sank over dear old Jase getting drawn in as the knight in shining armour too. The only positive is that it may be paving the way for the return of Eva. About time Jason had gorgeous women fighting over him!

On the venue thing - agree it's weird that Underworld conducts most of its business in the bistro, when they actually have an office - but it does happen, more in coffee shops than bars though.

That's what the Street needs - a chain coffee shop. Our town goes ballistic when one of those opens up.

Business lunches etc are actually quite common in real life. I was sat next to a table of someone being interviewed for a job in London a few months ago.

Lunches, yes. Presenting your company's products, not so much.

That said, I sat in Cafe Nero once and a transaction involving wads of tenners was going on. What could that mean
