Anyone know of any actors who quit the show and never really made it anywhere after?

Peter Dean who played Pete Beale, Jack Ryder who played Jamie Mitchell are the first 2 names that spring to mind.

There's probably only about 10 former soap stars across the board that have gone on to bigger and better things. Most disappear into obsucrity or pop up in the odd TV drama which won't be as well paid as a regular soap role.

I thought Peter Dean was axed.

There's a rumour that June Brown quit the show in protest over it.

I've never seem them in anything else other than EE.

Do you think they regret it?

Martine has done OK. Her singing career started well but then pretty much went downhill after the first couple of albums.

You're right about Michael Greco/Beppe.

Pretty sure Martin Kemp hasn't done too badly. He already had a profile before EE because of Spandau Ballet. He's been in a lot.

Joe Absolom isn't a big star but has been on Doc Martin for years. Plus has a number of dramas under his belt.

All I ever see Michael Greco doing is going for runs in LA these days in the Daily Mail. What income does he have exactly?

What ever happened to the guy who played Bradley on EE??
I think he's on that Canadian show Murdoch Mysteries.

Aside from Strictly (I think she was in the same series as Matt Di Angelo. Alesha Dixon won it that year), I don't think Letitia acted in any TV or film roles after she left EE in 2006, up until her return in 2012. She made a few real life appearances on daytime and primetime chat shows and released a workout DVD. I read that she was in theatre during that period.

When she left EE in 1995 she was in a few TV dramas. Clips are on YouTube.

He only toured with spaundau ballet

I think it's hilarious the way people are deemed unsuccessful if they're not in tv regularly

Neil McDermott who played Ryan Malloy has barely done anything TV wise since he left EE in 2011. Unless he's in theatre or something.

Jack Ryder (Jamie Mitchell) wasn't looking like much of a heart throb from the last pics I saw of him.

EE is the be-all and end-all. If you're not in it, who cares?

She'd be very lucky to get anything decent in the US. Unfortunately you have be be young and conventionally good looking to get anywhere.

It was a none speaking role too. You really do have to start all over again at the bottom.

He was indeed axed, sorry I read up on him after I posted. I remember a lot of the original cast never had significant tv roles after leaving but some of them seemed glad to fade back into obscurity.

Was there not a story about Neil McDermott and a teenager which might clear up why he hasn't done much?

was gonna say the same.

sure beppe is in america now.

quite a lot leave and do theatre work, that is successful in its own right and needs a heck of a lot more dedication and talent.

Yes Martin is still touring with spandau 😃

letitia dean did a few shows on the west end away from Ee.

not everyone aspires to only being a soap star

She did, I saw her in Calendar Girls.

I thought that's why she left, she wanted a bit of variety and wanted to do more theatre.

Just because you are not on the goggle box week in week out does not mean you have dropped off the face of the earth. There is this thing called theatre and appearing in the West End is a fantastic expereince for many.
