This seems strange considering everyone else had it on this weekend. Is this a last minute thing or something?

Must be, or they've got something wrong and need to right it.

EE recently delayed new business tariffs too.

Any idea what's going on?

Has EE heard of other tariff changes within the industry and wants to hold back or make some further changes?

Perhaps they want to see how their network copes with a second run of 100gb x 2 sims

Whilst I don't believe that this would indicate they were considering unlimited data roll out, it may at least mean they were looking towards offering higher data allowances.

They have extended this current 100GB sim offer period twice now, and that is something which they didn't do with the Dan and Phil sims, so i'm sure there is some reason for that.

Forget about unlimited data. That's never going to happen.

I'd settle for a 100 or 200GB plan, with the option to add further add ons in, say, 10GB chunks.

I don't think there was anything to get too excited about, namely EE simply bringing back a 10GB plan after it had fallen back to 5GB for a bit. Not life changing that's for sure!

There must be a reason for these limited edition SIM cards, hence the latest one and the extension of the offer, but at the same time I can't quite work it out. EE talks up all the things you can do with 100GB, yet doesn't offer anything close to it once the trial ends (it reverting to a maximum of 4GB?).

Sounds like they're testing their network to me, however I agree, it's pointless if they then dont follow it up with larger allowances etc. Unless of course they decided it can't cope...

Perhaps somebody had come up with the idea of offering lots of data for a reasonable price and then the bosses got involved by reminding them that that's not the kind of thing EE does!

That's the thing. After the last trial, they should have had a lot of useful feedback and would have seen if there were problems as a result.

I've had some pathetic speeds in London at times, and this was when there was no such trial SIMs going around offering crazy amounts of data that, for all intents and purposes, is unlimited for most people.

I think your expectations are set too high, even at 100GB

My Guess, is at best we might see a 20 / 25GB allowance at around the same price as the BT Mobile 20GB tariff and perhaps a 50GB allowance slightly under the £50 ballpark.

Or more likely they'll just bring back the double data promotion and instead of 5GB for £27.99 / month we'll be back to getting 10GB for the same price.

I'm not expecting anything ground breaking, stunning, or overly generous as it is EE

For ordinary SIM only, 20-25GB would be good.

For mobile broadband, 100GB or more is not unreasonable (I am not expecting to pay just £20 a month for it, so there's a hell of a lot of potential revenue if they charge £50 or something) and such deals exist elsewhere in Europe and presumably further afield.

But with the way EE operates, I am not expecting huge allowances. All the more reason why I still can't fathom these limited edition SIMs.

I'll be ordering another next week and that should keep me going for another two months (plus 14 days), so I'll activate in early July.

I effectively pay £10 for 201GB split over two months, which is insane. I am very happy to pay a lot more than this!!

Best not to question it, and just hope that they continue running them a few times per year.

I use the EE 15GB MBB sim in a mifi, and although my peak usage is around 12GB a month, with the 100GB sim its nice to be able to log on at night and not have to check the Dashboard to make sure my ration of data isn't coming close to being exceeded.

I was told both price and allowances would be changing, unfortunately the only person I know at EE who is senior enough to get the details went on holiday yesterday and isn't back at work until next week.

So this raises the price of the 2GB plan whilst taking it out of double speed 4g. Introduces new prices further up the price scale. Waste of time in my personal opinion, completely the wrong idea.

Oh dear.

Price rises and double speed creeping up until it will only be on the top plan! Not good.

Meanwhile, Vodafone is doing 20GB for £30 and then there's BT and iD Mobile doing 20GB for £20/25.

I've just moved my son from 3's One Plan (£20 per month) to Vodafone.

Got the 20GB per month tariff for £30 per month (usually £40), with £126 cashback via Topcashback.

I also get 30% of via F&F, which brings it down to a respectable £21 per month.

I'll see what they're offering at the end of the year, when my EE contract is up.

So EE is just getting more expensive. Maybe they just hate sim-only customers. Still not offering the 1GB sweet spot for many customers, so they can either have too little data or too much data.

I'd say retire any data bundles below 1GB. If you are going to go on a sim-only plan with EE, you are probably using a 4G phone and will be consuming data. Otherwise you could go on one of the many MVNOs offering much better deals than EE, on the 3G EE network.

Does this mean their PAYG thingies are now cheaper than the SIM Only things? That makes no sense.
