Has the loss of Lola made Billy's character redundant? Is It time for new characters' to make their mark and get rid of those like Billy who's been in a state of stagnation for years?

I was hoping they would build on Billy and Carol and integrate him and Janet with Carol, Sonia and Tina.

I like him with the Cokers, it works. Bring back Honey or Mo though for him.

I love Billy, even when he's just with the Mitchells. One minute Phil's sneering at him, and the next he's his wingman. The beauty of Billy's character is that he works with anyone. He was great with Janine, but works just as well with the Cokers, Alfie, Mick, Jay, Ian or Carol. IMO you need characters that can slot in anywhere.

Besides, Perry is such a versatile actor.

100% agree. Billy is one of my favourite characters. I wish they would give him a proper gritty storyline. Perry is versatile and is a very underrated actor.

He's basically just an extra now. Used for scenes with the Cokers or in the pub or cafe. Time he went

I agree with you.

Billy is arguably the most underrated character on the show - if only he could escape the Philth's malign 'Mitchell' influence and be his own man.

Perry really deserves a big storyline - perhaps Lola's leaving could be it?

I would rather Lola stayed but I imagine her exit will provide a big story for Billy, or I hope it does. He is one of the most underrated characters, Perry does a bang up job, I would like to see Billy get one up on Phil for once!!

I'm sort of on the fence with this one, but I don't dislike him but I don't see the point of keeping him as an extra. I am an advocate of bringing Honey back I know she has already stated she would be happy to return whereas I don't think Kacey would be interested in coming back as little Mo or I think they would have brought her back by now.

He's been nothing but a glorified extra for years. Why Perry has stuck around for so long is beyond me, I'd have died of boredom years ago if I was him!

Not if he and Carol get it on.

Honey should be coming back within the next year? Wasn't William's modelling contract only for a year or so? Her brief appearance last year could mean that she's coming back.

I agree. With lola going hes going to be even more pointless. Les is awful so billy and les in the funeral business triple boring. They never explosed hom with janet and the struggle of raising a kid with downs syndrome..and arent honey and willian supposed to have fonished the modelling in canada now? Its been the year she stated...

Perry Fenwick to me is on the same level as Adam Woodyatt, the difference between them both is that the character of Ian has been given more gritty storylines to show the true potential that Adam has.

IMO if Ian hadn't already of had a breakdown so recently leaving him homeless etc, I'd of suggesting the storyline for Billy upon Lolas departure to really show how much he is capable of where the Mitchells would then eventually find him and begin to intergrate him back into the family.

Billy is one the shows stalwarts and Perry Fenwick is one of the strongest actors, they'd be mad to axe him. There's loads they could do with Billy. If they axed everyone who wasn't involved in a current storyline the show would end up in pretty bad shape, we'd have no long term characters.

I can't see Billy being axed.

Maybe Billy will get involved with the upcoming transgender character and storyline. Do we know if the character will be female?

I love the idea of Carol and Billy. Loved their scenes a month or so ago.

I'd like to see more of Billy with Janet too.

I've always had a soft spot for Billy. I'm surprised he doesn't have a wife or girlfriend more often - I've liked his recent scenes with Carol, and I thought Honey and Little Mo were perfect for him in different ways. He seems to work well with in a relationship. I like his integration into the Cokers and I hope we see some involvement from him when Pam finds out about Claudette and Les.
