As Dave Grohl has a broken leg and cannot play Glasto, they have announced that F;orence and the Machine will replace them and headline. You cannot be serious

If I had a ticket I would be demanding a refund

Don't you apply for your tickets before knowing the line up.

Besides other stages to go and watch different acts, I know how you feel about Florence though, I was going to watch the foo fighters on tv, but have absolute no interest on the replacement.

Guess you missed the 10 dozen other acts appearing at the festival besides Florence

If you'd be demanding a refund because Florence is stepping in then you aren't worthy of a ticket.

There's so much more to do at Glastonbury, if you don't like Florence then go and watch someone else. Judging from your post, it's clear you've never been to a festival before.

I, for one, am happy for Florence. The first British female artist this century to headline Glastonbury. A great achievement.

I agree, it's a great achievement for Florence, not so sure it's great for the punters though. I've nothing against Florence, I quite like what she does, I just don't think she's Glasto headline material. Maybe in a few years if she continues on her current trajectory, but not just yet. Saying that, I remember when The Stone Roses had to pull out of their headline slot at the last minute adfter Squire did himself in falling off his bike. Pulp filled the gap and it was hailed as one of those amazing Glastonbury moments. Perhaps Flo & co can do the same and surprise a lot of people if they give her the chance.

I can guarantee that if you had gone to the effort of trying to get a ticket and had actually managed to get one, you would not be demanding a refund just because one of the headliners has changed. Peope lwho do get tickets get them to go to Glasstonbury, the headliners are sually a secondary consideration. I went for years and while it was great if the headliners were bands you really wanted to see, it didn't really matter or effect my enjoyment if they weren't; as there were always other acts on that I'd want to see. In fact, back in the day, you wouldn't actually find out who was playing until you actually walked through the gates and got your free programme.

Ha ha ha 😁 Seriously, only an idiot would try to get a refund on a ticket for a festival they bought before any bands were announced because just 1 band suddenly couldn't make it.

Maybe my post was not clear. I do not have a ticket but would assume that some will have bought a ticket to see the Foos headlining. They are after all one of the biggest bands in the world. It was fairly common knowledge that the Foos would be playing Glastonbury.

I know that there are lots of other bands to see, but to replace one of the biggest bands with a fairly lighweight pop band, is just wrong. I am pretty sure that there would have been other top bands, that could have headlined

Florence is an OK act just not headline on a Friday night

Doubt it, they would probably have gone to the Foo shows in the UK leading up to Glastonbury.

Glastonbury is a 3 day experience, not a 2 hour show on a Friday night. Some will of course be disappointed the Foo's will not be there, but that wouldn't have been the reason tickets were brought.

There is plenty of bands they could have gotten but you aren't going to get a band the size of foo fighters on 10 days or pretty much any band. For bands the size of foo fighters you need months of preplaning on tours. even though it wasn't the best choice of band it was the only possible choice available to Glastonbury on 10 days notice.

There seems to be a big gap in the Pyramid stage's running order now for the Friday, so maybe someone else might be drafted in as a special guest.

I know it's been mentioned before in this thread, but isn't the line-up announced *after* the tickets have been sold?

I don't agree with you in the slightest, and to be honest when you pay to attend a festival, you're not paying to see any particular act. Bands can and do pull out, sometimes for very poor reasons, and basically its tough! I wouldn't call Florence + the Machine 'lightweight pop' either, in fact a lot of people said they should have been headlining a night when they were first confirmed to be appearing at Glastonbury. I still think Friday has the best headliner of the three personally!

Exactly. I've seen suggestions that Muse should have stepped in, but they're headlining a festival in another country that day. You can't just expect bands to drop everything and go to play Glastonbury!

Its been said that a new act will be slotted in on the Friday, probably just before Florence but nothing is confirmed yet as regards who it will be.
