Its made by ZTE and is based on their ZTE Blade S6 Plus.

Seems alright if I'm honest

Specs look very similar to iPhone 6 but for £125

Will be interested to take a look at one of these. Combined with £30 SIMO with 20gb data, spotify and cash back, I could have a pretty decent package.

Do report back.

However, dealbreaker is can they be unlocked easily?

Good price for such high specs, tempting but still waiting if unlock code comes out on ebay.

Picked one up on Saturday. Rather decent device.

Reasonably fast (slower on Antutu than my sons Hudl 2 - so 8 cores not really being used that well), screen is excellent. Personally think the power button is too close to the volume rockers (too easily pressed). Camera is okay.

For the price, nothing comes close - 2gb ram, 16gb internal, 1920x1080 screen, 13mp Sony camera, virtually stock android. Makes the Moto G seem like underspecced rubbish.

Caveat - it came up in store at £150, not £125.

Yes they can. I believe it costs £3 on eBay.

Yes, a lot of updates this weekend. Being sold in stores from 135-150GBP but I believe they will price match. Rumours that online it was being bundled with decent headphones but this is unfounded.

Can be unlocked on eBay from 3,75.

Price in store is £150 (this is across the board, they don't have individual store pricing). Headphones in the box are distinctly average. And not sure what they can price match against - it has absolutely no competition.

*edit* - I've been informed that it was an error that had it come up at £150 over the weekend, price is being corrected to £125.

Yes, that's what I meant, price matching with their own website.

There was a rumour that they were being bundled with a separate pair of Harmon-Kardon earphones, worth at least 60GBP.

I didn't see that rumour .... would have been nice.

I'm quite impressed with the phone; can't see it being a "true" long term, as I tend to like having devices with a dedicated two stage camera release. But then I did buy it in part to replace my 2012N7 which is close to unusable.

What is the screen protection on this phone?

When requesting the unlock code, does one describe it as a ZTE Blade 6?

I've got a Blade S6 and it's alright for the money. Nice and quick, decent screen and reliable. Battery life is better than they say. Does look and feel a bit plasticky though.

Its not a "formal" gorilla glass, if thats what you mean? It is apparently a "toughened" glass.

I'd still suggest a screen protector (you can probably use anything designed for a 5.5" screen), although pretty sure I would never be able to get one put on and have it look right. Apparently custom cases are expected by the end of the week.

It is definitely growing on me, it'll be interesting to see how battery life works out. Mine was taken off charge at 7:30, I've downloaded a few apps/games (Dead Trigger 2, Trials Frontier - played for about 5 minutes, Google Sky Map, Google Earth), used it to cast a video to my chromecast (Predator Dark Ages - brilliant fan film), taken a few pictures, a bit of facebook - its now at 80%.

Got one in my 3rd Vodafone shop in Belfast today. It was the last model.

Takes a bit of getting of used to after iOS -intuitive is not a word that springs to mind.

Anyway, great thing was getting it unlocked in under 25 minutes -buh-bye, Voodoofone.

Does anyone know of cases for it yet ?

I've never thought that Android is that different to iOS, but then I'm regularly alternating between iOS, Android and WP (the latter being the only one with a semi consistent interface). One persons intuitive is anothers nightmare.

Cases are due at the end of the week.

Android gives you so many more options and possibilities. Problem is you don't want or need any of them.

Must say, I find it very different, with many important options (such as turning on 4G) buried in sub-menus. However, I will now, as they say, RTFM and stop whinging.

I'm up and running now with an 100GB EE SIM in it. Perfect now for going out running and exercising while listening to music via Google Play. Absence of iMessage is the main downside.
