It's this dude here:

As requested, I simply supplied him with IMEI, model and Network in a "message to seller". Had the unlock code 25 minutes later.

I'd still suggest a screen protector (you can probably use anything designed for a 5.5" screen), although pretty sure I would never be able to get one put on and have it look right. Apparently custom cases are expected by the end of the week.

Oh phone seems perfect apart from the toughened glass.
I've the first Moto G,want to upgrade to 4G/1080p.

Thanks, same page I thought then (luckily, as I sent the link to someone looking to buy a cheap phone to replace a broken z3).

At least two epic fails so far:

Downloaded Argus pedometer.....won't work as phone doesn't support "step counter".

Downloaded Sky Go. Tried to watch something after logging in, to see quality of screen. App says "sorry, Sky Go does not support Miracast". I'm only trying to watch it on the device !

Is the only place to get one from Vodafone, in-store?

Is it a decent phone then? Worthy replacement for the nexus 4? I can tell this phone is now getting old.

I'm definitely liking it, looks like it'll easily get through a day on a charge, every game I've thrown at it (so far) runs without a problem. Virtually stock Android (aside from a few Vodafone applications) and a decent amount of internal storage.

See if you can try one in store first, or look for other reviews on line - I will say that the reviews/previews I've seen don't seem to do the screen justice, it tends to look way better than the previews imply.

It's grand, but lack of pedometer is a major issue (for me).

The Sky Go problem I mentioned earlier seems to be a known problem and is Sky's fault.

I've noticed quite a bit of freezing or lack of response, particularly in their AppStore but maybe I'm doing something wrong in Android.

I've got a fitbit charge HR for the tracking, probably more accurate than most phones built in pedometers, also means I'm not quite so tied to the phone. But can understand the lack of that being a problem for you (it seems like a strange omission, as it surely has the relevant sensors built in, just not enabled?).

So far I've only experienced freezing with the facebook client, but then the facebook client is pretty poor on all platforms. The app store seems to be fine (so far). It is pretty much the stock android experience, which is definitely to be commended.

I believe that the full model number for the Vodafone Smart ultra 6 is the ZTE VF-995N.

Looking at getting this phone at the end of the month would like to hear from people who've brought it how its doing after a few weeks. Will be my first 4G phone so am a total newb to that part of it. Do you notice a increase in wifi speeds?

4G is latest-gen mobile data and so does not influence wifi in any way. That depends on the speed of your connection to a given wifi service for the most part.

Yep i know 4G is mobile internet but was just wondering if it also meant it processed wifi quicker. Am on infinity at home and it seems sluggish when downloading on my phone

No, the 4G strictly refers to mobile data. However, as a modern phone, one would expect that it would offer as fast connection when connected to a fast wifi service. Certainly, in the three days that I owned one, I didn't notice anything amiss when it was connected to my fibre optic at home.

Some phones only support 2.4GHz and have slow CPUs so can't actually accept the data as fast as fibre services can send. If your computer is fine then it could be the phone.

Yep my phone is pretty old and on its last legs hence the upgrade coming! Served me well but i think its time is up yet don't really see the need to spend £30+ on a phone when this one looks great at £17 ( not a heavy user of mins and texts!)

Anyone know of any cases available for this yet?

Official line is "on the way, soon". But not sure what sort of cases they are ... iirc the cases for their other phones are the flip style - personally dislike that type of case.

I'm tempted to buy a simple/soft iPhone 6S gel case, the Ultra 6 is almost exactly the same size as the 6S. Then hack holes in for the volume and power keys.

I got this as an upgrade to my Xperia Z1.

I have to say, the screen was the biggest selling point for me, it's 1080p and tbh rivals the Samsung Galaxy 6. In fact, apart from processor speed it matches or beats the S6 in nearly every category.

Got it on Vodafone (been with them for about 7 years now) on a £17 a month contract and for that price you really can't complain. £150 payg is still an absolute steal.

Don't they make cases for the non vf name of this phone? Usually on flea bay you can get anything.

They don't fit properly as the Smart Ultra 6 is a modified version of the Blade, they've moved the volume rocker.

It is, but a lot of stores aren't matching the Webstore price. At least, that's the general consensus on the Vodafone support forums. Unless they are now, in which case I stand corrected.
