I like it and read it. If you want to see a really bad paper, try the Express. Jeez, I picked one up while waiting for my car to be serviced and it was like a children's comic.

In a way that is too liberal and tries to make everything look prettier than it actually is, just so it can preserve the stance of political correctness.

I glanced at their website a few weeks ago, and it featured about 15 articles about the Kardashians. I haven't been on there since.

DM is great for the plane and it's free (with BA)

Definitely one of the more readable rags (hint - just dont believe eveything you read)

Do you like the Daily Mail?

No, I really do not like the Daily Malicious (as rival newspaper proprietor Richard Desmond puts it).

The Express which Desmond owns is just as bad every day on the front page there is either a headline about a cure for Altzhiemers or something about the weather.

I noticed the spoof BBC Scotlandshire also has some other links.

This was one. http://newsshaft.com/jack-foster-its...he-daily-mail/

Even if true, isn't that better than making everything look much worse than it actually is, e.g. by demonising immigrants, Muslims, benefit claimants etc?

Yeah, I'm not seeing it either. Both the Mail and the Guardian have their fluff pieces, but the Mail is more fluff than serious content.

The Guardian is just as biased as The Telegraph and the Daily Mail, only in a different direction. I find the 'apologist' type articles you always find in the Guardian rather annoying too.

Anyway, the Guardian is definitely not a serious rag.

In my opinion, if you had the Guardian as your only source of news, your resulting viewpoint would be everyone who is white and western should feel 'guilty' for everything that is not right in the world. After all, it's all their fault.

Why isn't it? Having a liberal bias doesn't preclude it from being a serious newspaper.

No, I don't buy newspapers and I don't really visit newspaper websites unless someone has posted a link to an article somewhere.

Going to a newspaper website to generally browse it, to see what's going on in the world (or to see what they say is going on in the world) isn't something I often do and that applies to all papers.

How can it be a serious newspaper if it doesn't even try to be bias free?

Having a political bias doesn't preclude the ability to publish quality journalism. Look at the Guardian's website today, pieces on MC Escher and the ancient Greeks. Look at the Mail, pieces on Keira Knightly's "£1000 pram" and a "benefits-mother-of-four" who wants a boob job.

The Mail isn't all bad, but finding the good bits is like picking out undigested sweetcorn from a giant turd.

According to that site I'm officially hated by the DM.

The feeling is entirely mutual.

I used to read it regularly for a while - I don't now.

It's pretty much all about ISIS and the Kardashians anyway.
I really don't feel like I'm missing out.

No. If it's bad, you have to acknowledge it is bad and not to pretend that everything is peachy. That is just what the liberal newspapers are doing. Same goes for having too strong conservative flavour, that is not good either. Journalism should be honest and balanced. Unfortunately, we don't have that in today's society, we only have liberal left and conservative right media. The truth is always somewhere in between that.

Thing is, in today's society I think far right parties are raising more important questions and issues, while lefties are lost in their attempts to defend political correctness while ignoring a few very important issues, just sweeping it under the carpet and the problem is not disappearing, but becoming even bigger and more complex to solve.

No, it's a terrible paper. I'm looking forward to the day when it finally closes.

People who do read it don't really care about politics or journalism anyway. It's news for people who don't like the news.

Not for the propaganda they have spewed out against everyone on benefits who now face cruel sanctions and benefit cuts.

Can't say I do. Judging by what they write they aren't great fans of me or others like me either.

I've never liked it at all, but obviously still nowhere near as bad as the Guardian.

It is. It really is. I'm no fan of the Guardian, especially in recent years as it has gone massively downhill but there is still such a wide, gaping chasm of difference between the clickbait alarmist sh*te the Mail comes out with and the output of the Guardian it's not even funny.

The Mail is not a newspaper. It's an exercise in directing as many people as possible towards their website as possible to rack up the ad revenue. It's easy to do, and it's so easy to see what they are doing I'm amazed anyone actually takes it seriously. The comments are always good for a laugh though, albeit in a slightly guilty "should I be laughing at these idiots" sort of way.
