Still, I suppose that if you just want arguments and conflict, and don't care what they're about, then show-ruining irritants are the way to go. But even then you pay for it with a lot of mindless shrieking, tedious lounging about in the spa and snug (the lipgloss botches provided some of the most mind-numbingly boring television I have even seen) , idiotic dancing, and so endlessly on.

Jade, Johhy, Madia, and Barco, along with the world's dullest anarchist, Kitten, nonetheless have at least on thing to their "credit": they mastered the delicate art of being boring and irritating at the same time.”

how can you call Jade, marco and nadia boring? Jade is the queen of big brother and no matter what you think you couldn't call her boring. BB4 tension???? ok have u been taking crazy pills or something? BB4 was sooooooo boring. It flopped and that proves more people enjoyed BB5 with nadia winning.

Cameron is not, to be fair, the worst housemate ever. Just thinking of Justine makes my skin crawl .

BUT he is, in my eyes, the worst winner, down to the fact that the other four did at least offer something to the show that I feel Cameron lacked.

I feel that Cameron (and to an extent, Nadia) did get a massive boost due to the biased editing of the producers. But Cameron especially. He got packed off to South Africa, all expenses paid, in a totally biased and unfair way of picking a housemate. In BB Africa, Gae was chosen through a challenge. Why didn't Channel 4 have the guts to send the winner of a challenge to Africa? It was because they couldn't face it that their winning boy could have lost out. Instead they called someone to the Diary Room when everyone else was asleep and Cameron just happened to be walking past the door . Actually, just thinking about that makes me mad!

It didn't help that Cameron was a severe hypocrite. He did all that reading the Bible in the Diary Room nonsense to come across as a friendly, innocent virgin and then proceeded to bitch about Lisa to everyone who would listen and said he would like to stick two fingers over her windpipe. Sounds compatable with 'love thy neighbour,' doesn't it?

There have been far worse housemates on Big Brother, but Cameron is by far the least deserving winner, IMHO. I feel that there were many housemates such as Tickle, Anouska, Ray and even Sissy and Federico, who did far more in Big Brother 4 to deserve the title of winner. That's all. Not the worst housemate ever, but up there with some of them.

With BB4 being the blandest BB yet then maybe it was fitting that Cameron won. At least it gave the producers a wake-up call to pull out all the stops with BB5 and, hopefully, BB6.

Easy: they provided some of the most boring, tedious television I have ever seen. For instance, when the BB5 cameras showed us minute after tedious minute of the "lipgloss" ones lazing in the "snug".

Then there was Barko and his Seals: "I'll just sit in the spa all day apart from some breaks for inane barking and repetitive bitching, plus a lot of shrieking to make sure no one can say I'm dull."

How about Madia? Will some interesting, insightful observation drop from her lips? Maybe some creative bitching a la Dan? Nooo... looks like it will be "I need my cigarettes" yet again.

Just watch me. Jade was never entertaining. She was a tedious, irritating, and boring, often all at once. Where did people get the idea that loud, self-absorbed, fame-desperate, cash-in-hungry ignorance is entertaining?

BB4 seemed more boring than it was because of the contrast with BB3 and because the interesting, fun ones really were voted out, so that it had a very dull ending.

Or we could bitch about each other to our friends, BB5-style.

No, the BB4 lot were boring even though they were plied with alcohol and resorted to sending in 'extras' nothing could save it.

As if they didn't resort to sending anyone into BB5, plus a host of other gimmicks.

BB5 was the most manipulated BB. And it featured some of the most irritating people ever to appear on tv. Cameron's faults (this is a Cameron thread, right?) were minor compared to Madia's and Barco's.

Here's some of why Cameron was a better and more deserving winner:

He wasn't a desperate wannabee keen to cash in. So no "fitness" video. No can't-sing single. No "new look" weight-loss makeovers. No Cameron faces constantly smirking out at us from celeb-worship mags like Heat. (The occasional media appearance can, of course, be forgiven.)

He presented a misleading picture to the other HMs (acting the naive Orkney boy when he was a well-traveled international businessman), and he was a nasty sly bitch at times, but he was not nearly as deceptive or bitchy as Madia.

He stopped smug and vile Scott from winning, while Madia stopped only more deserving people. (Take that Shell- Dan-, and Jason-haters! )

The producers cheated for him at most once, unlike the almost constant cheating for "give me a cigarette or I'll bitch and whine and stamp my feet" Madia.

He's better looking. (This is television after all.) He has a more pleasant voice. He's a better singer. He's less self-absorbed.

Looks like you missed an issue Veri!

He was definately in Heat (and on the cover too!), complete with a "sexy" new makeover.

Anouska did far more to deserve the title of winner? She was only there for two minutes! (Mind you, that was long enough for her to get enough people's backs up to be voted out in preference to the three other nominated FMs.)

Cameron won because the majority of the British public liked him and thought he was the best HM.

And it was people who thought like that who made BB4 boring.

So, you preferred Scott to Anouska then? Scott, who contributed the least out of all the housemates that year save Gos, sat around being nice to everyone and got a free ticket to the final because he was 'fit?'

Anouska was the most entertaining housemate of BB4 throughout her short duration in the house. It was launch night nerves that sealed her fate. She should have been allowed to stay longer. Big Brother 4 would have been much more interesting if people hadn't voted her out. She should have been in the final four as opposed to Scott.

As a matter of fact, yes, I did prefer Scott (and everyone else) to Anouska. It's true he did not fulfil his potential because he was too guarded, but I much prefer intelligent, witty, and non-frantic to loud, obnoxious, empty-headed, and attention-seeking. I honestly can't see how you could judge Anouska the most entertaining, but hey ho, there's no accounting for taste.

C'mon guys! How can you judge him when all you've seen of him is how Channel 4 decided to portray him on TV. I spoke to Emma from BB5 recently and she told me that she did actually sit down and have serious conversations with the other HMs but C4 decided to portray her as the "dippy blonde" Like Adam (bbvision) I have also know Cameron for quite a while and he is a genuinley lovely guy. So just don't judge a book by it's cover.

Cheers,

Jonnie

Anouska wasnt air headed, and obnoxious. I found her bubbly and fun to watch compared to rest of those major bores . Scott was boring and did nothinh. Ok intellengient and witty maybe but that don't mean he is entertaining.

My whole family were miffed as o why anouska was voted off. She was a live wire with a major spark and bb became dull when she left

Well, that's your call. Carry on, vote out the entertaining ones and leave BB6 boring for us. It's that attitude that turned BB4 into the traversty it was. Surely you must understand there has to be some "loud, obnoxious, empty-headed, attention seeking" element to Big Brother in order to keep to show rolling? (And I would not use those words to describe Anouska). We may not like these housemates, but they are a catalyst for discussion and potential interest in the house. So you preferred Gos to Anouska then? In your own words, no accounting for taste.

It's not a case of voting out the most entertaining ones, but rather that different people have different ideas of what's entertaining. I am aware that some people seem to find the 'loud, obnoxious etc' ones entertaining, for reasons that escape me, but to me they are just loud, obnoxious, and irritating, rather than entertaining. I too found BB4 boring, but I found BB5 even more boring. I'm afraid I can't see it getting any better in future either. And yes, when I said I preferred Scott and everyone else to Anouska, obviously that included the immobile Gos.

Well, Anouska was certainly pretty shrieky on the first night, which sealed her fate.

But I think there might have been some hope for her if she had stayed in.

I find the Marco, lip-glosses, jade, caggy, nicola types very annoying.............you just want to slap them and tell them to shut the f--- up

I thought BB5 was deathly dull.............the level of inane noise overpowered everything else.........it was impossible to watch a lot of the time.

That's why I said he wasn't "constantly" is the celeb mags and why I mentioned that "The occasional media appearance can, of course, be forgiven."

I figured he must have been in the celebs at least once. I didn't expect the "makeover" part, but at least he's not repeatedly new-looking like Madia and Jade.

Agreed, Lulu g.

A house full of fame hungry extroverts would make me switch off just as much as a house full of the quieter types, sleeping on the sofa all day.

Somewhere in the middle would be nice for BB6, but I doubt this can happen now. The innocence of the earlier (better) shows has long gone. Instead of Fight Night, I fully expect a murder this year. And yes, I will be watching.....

BTW: Now don't faint, Veri, but I'm liking your work on this thread! Especially this bit -

Just watch me. Jade was never entertaining. She was a tedious, irritating, and boring, often all at once. Where did people get the idea that loud, self-absorbed, fame-desperate, cash-in-hungry ignorance is entertaining?
