Jess Glynne possibly tying Cheryl/Rita's record?
Having had three number one's prior (My Love, Rather Be and Hold My Hand) could Not Letting Go tie for the record this weekend?

I'm sure that song will be no1 this weekend, hopefully she does break the record, deserved it more than the Ora Coles

I'm not sure how I feel about three of her number ones being as a featured artist myself, it almost takes away the achievement to me. I mean Cheryl was involved with all Girls Aloud number ones but they aren't counted for her, and that's me saying that as somebody who really isn't keen on Cheryl in the slightest

Cheryl holds the record with five* #1s, not four.

Cheryl has 5 number 1's not 4 (FFTL / PT / CMN / CSL / IDC)
But I think Jess will definetly tie/beat the record in due course as she's bound to feature on some more songs and another lead single off of the album yet - unless Cheryl releases new material this year? I know Rita is releasing new material too, but I can't see Poison getting number 1 at all |

I'm fully rooting for Not Letting Go to be #1 on Sunday as I think Are You With Me is one of the most dull dance tracks around - and there are a number of them getting released in the next few weeks.
Why has UK dance music started to get crap again? ![]() Anyways, I hope Jess Glynne does somehow equal or even better the record. Jess is a fantastic vocalist and I sort of like the fact she's achieved this whilst working with different artists. Poison better not get to #1. It would easily be my least favourite #1 of the year if it gets there. It's just a big steaming pile of nothing. |

She must have a good management team because she gets a tonne of successful features.

Was thinking this the other day, and I can see Jess even beating Cheryl's five number one's pretty soon. Not Letting Go was already #1 on iTunes after just a few hours release on Sunday and already has a lot of streams, so I think it will definitely get to #1 on Sunday. I hope Jess can equal the record; she has an amazing voice and actually deserves the title!

I'd love for Jess to snatch Cheryl's record. Lets face it Chezza is a talentless bint, and Rita Ora can sing but she's such a desperate I don't want to see her holding the record either.
It's not an issue for me that a lot of Jess's number ones were features, since she was the sole vocalist on two of them and she sings the only memorable hook of the Tinie Tempah song. |

The thing with Jess Glynne is that if you look at her singles so far where she's been a vocalist -
Rather Be My Love Right Here Real Love Hold My Hand Not Letting Go That is already 50% on the way to being a brilliant debut album for Jess - if the featured tracks were to be included. If there was a new compilation called Feel Good Hits, these tracks would easily fit on there. Maybe this is the appeal of Jess. As well as being an excellent vocalist (there is something about her voice I love), the songs are all pure fun and not songs to be taken seriously without being corny or cheesy. I'm intrigued as to what Jess Glynne's debut album might be like.

Out of interest, why was this record of British female no1s recently become a thing? Sure this country has national pride but I would be more interested in a female beating Madonna's true record of most female no1s in the UK at 13, or at least someone beating Rihanna's and Kylie's 2nd and 3rd place records, no matter whether they're British or not.

It's all well and good on her having number 1's, but the proof of Jess Glynne's success is whether anyone bothers to buy her album.
