I've visited Dublin several times and never have I observed the nasty behaviour Marc describes as Irish banter, I have always been made welcome and yes there is a lot of banter but always friendly never nasty, spiteful or degrading like Marc.

I wish he would stop with prefacing his odious and repellent language with "Dublin" banter. Most right minded Irish people, let alone Dubliners would be appalled at his behaviour and filthy mouth.
Not one decent Irish bloke would condone the repugnant filth he says to any woman.
Surprised someone hasn't had a word or re-arranged his ludicrious veneers before now, but perhaps he mixes in circles that think it's acceptable or funny.

Imagine going to Newcastle and witnessing the "Geordie Shore" lads n lasses on a pub crawl. Now imagine leaving that particular pub (quickly) and entering the pub next door.

I imagine Geordie banter would be much grosser in the first pub, the same would be true of Marc's irish banter i expect.

Being a fan is no problem everybody is entitled to an opinion But blind faith in someone you don't even know is a bit strange.

Whatever town I was in I wouldn't expect the locals to act the same with me as with their friends. Whenever he's mentioned the 'Dublin banter' i've always assumed he is meaning how he and his mates talk to each other, and probably other groups of mates.

his sort of banter is everywhere,, making out it is exclusive to Dublin so the English won't get it is one of the most idiotic copouts I have ever heard

Agreed Whenever someone uses the phrase Its just banter to excuse their behaviour to others it is just a cop out excuse to make themselves feel they are really a fun person.

I like Essex banter where you get to call people "scum of the earth pr*cks" and everyone then pats you on the back for being a nice guy.

I'd imagine Marc has toned it down for BB, probably with his friends it's that oh so charming banter of attacking eachothers mothers and girlfriends

If you have to use the phrase 'It's just banter' there must have been something wrong in what what was said in the first place.
It's a cop out (imo).

Hi But, no matter how many times you visit Ireland / Dublin, you'll probably never hear banter like Marc because you have to be in the company of a group of Irish friends, we are reknowned for being cruel but funny in our insults to each other, basically if we don't slag ye, then your not a close friend, this isn't solely an Irish thing, last year I watched IACGMOH and Jimmy Bullard got himself into a lot of trouble sharing banter with Jake Quickenden, the public went mad accusing him of bullying, but the two lads were perfectly ok with it.

I and my friends love Marcs banter, yes he takes it close to the bone but its refreshing and funny for us to watch. Any polls I've seen show Marc is currently winning by a landslide so he must be doing something right, it can't all be down to the producers

Firstly "slagging" your friends is not what Marc O'Neill is doing. They are not his friends, he has been very clear on that.

He has used filthy insults to women under the guise of banter. It is not "refreshing nor funny" in the slightest

Moreover, without being personal (not my intention) where in Dublin do you hang out that a man can call a woman a slut bucket..etc. (Im tempering what I'm saying as I have found his language just plain disgusting.

Most decent Irish blokes would be asking him to step outside. Surprised he hasn't had his choppers knocked down the back of his neck.

I haven't the time to break down every word that comes out of Marcs mouth, anything that he said that was way below the line, he has gone back and apologised for, the cumbucket was one of those, and you are right I hadn't heard that before.

Do blokes nowadays 'ask people to step outside' LOL it sounds lovely and chivalrous.

Better than any apologizing just don't say such vile crap in the first place. Baggy fanny was another one. Calling some one fat was another. And his general it's all about ME ME attitude stinks imo.
