Filling Pastry Cases
So any recipes you fine people can tantalise me with to fill a ready made sweet Pastry case. I feel like making something sweet with one but never done so before. Plus I'm hoping by adding my own filing I can use fresh fruit and avoid the E numbers and stuff like that. (I'm working towards making my own pastry later)
Something fairly simple preferred. |

I made a treacle tart a few weeks ago. The hardest part of it was making breadcrumbs!! Really easy!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/ma...cle_tart_28524 I didn't bother with the limes or the lattice!! Last edited by petral_gal : 23-06-2015 at 19:53. Reason: Adding link |

There's a good recipe here with a cheat's creme patissiere.
http://maisoncupcake.com/really-fast...me-patissiere/ They use raspberries, but most other soft fruits would work. |

Thanks you two. I'll try them next time. They both sound delicious.
I've put something experimental in the oven at the moment. Will tell if it's a success or disaster afterwards. |

Years ago I used to regularly make this Lemon Meringue pie. It's quite cheap to do and uses only a few ingredients but it tastes lovely.
