Sorry but I didn't know where to post this question to tecky know how's.

When I clear all data, cookies, history, etc, off safari from my iPad, I have to log back in to various websites. How comes certain apps are able to keep all you data and let you in after doing that? Without re logging in?

Probably because only Safari uses the cookies etc that you have cleared out. The other apps on your iPad store their own data cache separately and are not affected by anything you do in Safari.

It's exactly the same as if you were running, say, Firefox and Chrome browsers on a PC. The cookies and history in Firefox is totally separate from the cookies and history in Chrome. So whatever you do in Firefox has no effect on Chrome or vice versa.

That entirely depends on the app and how it manages any data it caches. In some cases the only way to do it is to delete the entire app and re-install it again!
