Not a bad start I suppose

May as well give it a chance to develop, which unfortunately the UK show was not allowed to do as they weren't at each others throats from the start

Dear Christ what an underwhelming opener.

A girl alliance on night one .. didn't any of you watch what happened last year!? Audrey seems like she has a bit of attitude and the potential to be a bit of a bitch, which is a shame as it'll be her personality that will end up getting her hated and not her transgendered status.

I'll echo what everybody else has already pointed out .. Battle of the Block was rubbish! Nobody was calling for that to be back ((Just like Survivor with their fan favourite Redemption Island anyone!)

BB takeover sounds dumb! A new spanner in the works each week .. seriously! The 3 episodes will barely have any time to feature any natural behaviour with all these competitions and twists thrown at them!

The twin twist - Julies reveal made it sound like it was something revolutionary new to the game! Why didn't she say, we did it once and we are doing it again.

What annoys me is the fans love the games, and these twists can be good when played cleverly and sparsely .. add too many and they completely detract away from the game and just piss us off!! I know Big Brother has always been about expect the unexpected but strategy is well and truly second fiddle to luck these days.

I thought it was a poor launch personally. The key thing is absolutely pathetic, Julie Chen has the personality of a brick and HoH comp was just embarrassing especially how they all fell off. Add to that the BoTB reveal (I'm hoping it's just for the start of the show with the two night premiere) it didn't exactly inspire.

I want to see how the BB take over works out. I read the other week that it was going to be in the similar vein of Celebrity Hijack and I thought that was really well done when BBUK did it.

If there's a carrot of celebrity every week, whether to party or host comps etc, then it might make the HM's game a bit harder and have them causing more drama to stand out during their five mins of fame. Instead of them just giving up and rolling over like usually happens.

If my thoughts on the premier could be summed up in one tweet, this would be it.

Battle of the block as "fan favorite"? Who is this fan? #bb17

Agree with everyone, was a poor intro to a season.

Almost like they wanted to re-emulate BB16 LMAO. Just bring all 16 HG in please, it would be much more interesting.

Audrey giving me trainwreck vibes. I think she is playing too hard too fast and could be one of the first to go with the BOB BS return twist. As for the twin twist I don't like it, when they're recycling old material it's almost like producers have given up trying to be creative.

Clay getting the predictable "hot guy" edit. Yeah, he is good looking but has no personality. It makes me annoyed when you see true fans not get cast and the Cody's and Clay's of the world get scouted on cause they look attractive.

James was okay in the edit, I kinda liked him and Da'Vonne. Do think Da'Vonne is in trouble though. Sitting out of the HoH was a bad move IMO.

The HoH comp was pathetic, they've stooped to getting new hosts because Julie is so cold. Austin / Clay falling first was poor, "could not last longer than 30 secs", yep lol.

Overall this season opening has made me concerned. Battle of the Block makes it very easy for huge alliances to dominate the game, I can see this season being ruined once again by the twist. It is not a fan fave, they lied to the viewers. I do think producers want to give it another try though, if it is ruining the season they might cut it short this year because BB16 it ran so painfully long for 10 weeks

I also didn't like the Audrey reveal, it seemed very calculated by production to have her call the meeting and even specify that they were to tell a secret. It came across like a stunt instead of it being natural, it had all the subtlety of a sledgehammer and honestly I just found it sad.

They didn't cut BoTB early last year because it protected who they wanted it to protect. I don't think they have the cast to do that this year.

They always do that though, getting into a group and introducing themselves, and it wasn't a secret it was something interesting about yourself. Maybe she felt more comfortable suggesting it than someone else.

From what I gather from BB Takeover, BoTB won't last long as it seems there bringing back old twists/new twists and going to be using them week to week. Hopefully anyways

I might be in a minority, but I enjoyed this years premiere, at least as much as one could expect to enjoy a BBUS premiere.

This year I've been limited in my pre-season cast snooping, so for the most part these people were all unknowns to me, but I generally liked most of them. (Though I also generally liked Frankie after last years premiere so I'm reserving my judgement)

Like most, I'm not thrilled about BOTB being brought back - the justification that it was a fan favourite is laughable. I think the must frustrating thing is that we already saw the main selling point of BOTB last year play out with the Christine/Nicole week, so why bother doing it again.

My big concern about this season is that they seem to be going really overboard with the twists. You would think that BOTB would be one of the weekly takeover things, but instead it's a running thing, along with the twin twist and extra shit every week.. It just seems a bit much, and maybe a bit hard to keep track of..

I'm very happy I came upon the new season started last night, so I got to watch it online today I usually end up watching a complete season back to back after its finished as we don't get it televised here, but OMG it is so much better than the BBUK version

Can't really say much until we see who goes in tonight, splitting the entries and HoH comps over two nights might automatically cause a divide.

Personally I would have found it more interesting had Audrey not told, it'd have been interesting to see people just get to know her with no notions of her past.

BOTB has never been a fan fave so dunno where on earth the producers came up with that. Grodner trolling us all.

Nobody I can say I hate yet but knowing recent BBs that'll surely change.
