BT TV has multi millions this year on Sports Channels and even a new UHD box for the Sports channels and red button apps.
Also they spent on EE Mobile too that has a TV service box.

So hope that BT TV next year brings other channels after all that spending on sports this year and that the same amount of cash spent, so that we can have all these channels and more ....

Channel 5 HD
WATCH HD
Sky One HD
Alibi HD
Sky Living HD
ITV 2 HD
ITV 3 HD
ITV 4 HD
ITVBe HD
Universal HD

No chance! I moved to BT to reduce my TV spend. Sky are too expensive but also tying up many of the channels you list with exclusivity or incentives. They would make BT more expensive and that'd defeat the purpose for many. (Even with tiered subscriptions). I'd also be astonished if Sky added their main entertainment channels to BT as they are in a bit of a sports TV war. TalkTalk are not in the same boat.

Sky are more likely to finally get around to sorting Now TV entertainment on YouView (there were some platform issues around this but less so now. Still not perfect with no multicast, but no different to any other Now TV platform). They can then keep the billing in house and the streaming quality sufficiently sub HD to not strip away the Sky TV platform. Probably one of the main reasons NowTV is not yet on YouView- don't want to make more reasons for people to leave Sky for a cheaper platform (those that don't want sport that is).

I have BT TV as its cheaper per month than Sky. Also the more Sky channels that BT have the dearer the price would be per month.
I also agree that BT getting the likes of Sky1 is a no.
I don't have the Sky Movies package with BT partly due to cost I only tend to watch a few films a month and find Netflix better value.

Why would Sky1 put the price up ? Don't Talk Talk include these channels as boosts at similar costs to BT TV.

The majority of those are either (currently) unobtainable for BT, or just plain unnecessary, Alan. I LIKE the fact I get less choice than Sky, because it means I do t pay Sky prices.

Yes I agree that some price would be needed to put to a list like I did above, but that can be managed like Sky Virgin and TT do today and have done from day one of Multi channel TV in the UK and that is package system to allow people /customers to move to value that they can afford to pay and BT TV can still give good price with different levels of pay services like they do now with movie add on or now sports are pay add on and they is players from sky and Netflix and films that all need extra cash to have.

As for Sky tie up contacts for channels yes in past they did it a lot and may still do it with some channels BUT BT TV has Sky Movies Sky Sports and FOX now .

I taken sky out of my list and it still has many channels that can be added and they are NOT tied to sky as they are all on virgin too right now and some were on virgin before sky did, like Film 4 HD.

EDEN HD
Channel 5 HD
WATCH HD

Alibi HD

ITV 2 HD
ITV 3 HD
ITV 4 HD
ITVBe HD
Universal HD
E4 HD
Dave HD
More 4 HD
Good Food HD
TCM HD
Film 4 HD

CNN HD
Nick HD
Disney HD

There is also SD and + channels which would give a choice of channels too and help people to plan they viewing with a choice .

BT TV , TT & PlusNet are systems which gives extra channels in our home with out have a dish on your homes or a cable up your streets if cable company could afford it.

BT TV must not just be looked as a sports system because remember that BT TV is on top of Freeview that has sports shown on many of it's channels ... and many homes have other people in which may like to see other types of shows then just sports.

For a start if there was ever to be channels such as Dave HD, More 4 HD, E4 HD, ITV 2,3 and 4 HD. They are more likely to be on Freeview and not BT TV given time.
I cant see TCM HD coming to BT TV anytime soon as BT still don't have an SD version of that channel as yet.
Channel 5 HD was ment to come to Freeview a few years but it never happened.
I would not want to end up paying Sky prices for my BT TV. For take Skys family bundle that includes HD. It costs far more than the entertainment max package that im on with BT TV. Yes it may offer more channel and more HD but there would be a few channels in the Sky family bundle that I may never watch or just watch now and again.
BT TV do need to make more minor improvements to its BT TV service but I would not like the service to be full of channels that I may only watch now and again. Like it is the now with Freeview.
