I can't believe they forwent the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Uluru - especially since they passed a junction which signposted it as only 9km away (at least I think that's what it said)..

The real Australia would be going for a walk along the beach before having avocado on toast and a soy latte at a street cafe, then maybe an AFL match or a game of kick-to-kick in the park. Australia is one of the most urbanised countries in the world with something like 90% of the population living in cities. I'm surprised at Adam perpetuating the myths about Aussie hard men living in the outback facing poisonous creatures at every turn. Obviously some do but a tiny number. And I speak as someone who loves the Last Leg and was really looking forward to this programme.

They didn't spend much time in Alice Springs either, a fascinating place...

Actually I watched that bit again. I don't know where I got the 9km from - it was just a sign before the junction with the route number on it (which wasn't 9 in any case ). So it could have been any distance.

Why have they got a blind Scottish Asian to show them round Australia anyway?

Well I was looking forward to it but honestly can't recall much about it. That's how interesting I found it.

and I generally like these shows where a few comedian mates go on a jolly together (Byrne & O Briain in Central America).

I thought John Bishops tour of Aus was more interesting.

There was one just before the Brazil World Cup in 2014 with a German comic and someone else (the name eludes me) with them going round Brazil, that was a good watch I thought!

I just checked on Google maps and it is 260km from that junction, so would have been quite a detour

Uluru is sacred to Aboriginal Australians - so whilst flying over it is okay, maybe goofing around next to it could prove disrespectful.

It felt uneasy that Adam was insinuating that Aborigines are wife beating, alcohol drinking, baby endangerers, who are all on the dole. Just because there were signs at a health centre like you may see here in the UK.

I didn't get that view. He was highlighting what the white popuiation of the region put out about aborigines.

I could not believe that Josh and Alex did not go up in the plane. They were also such wusses about everything - wincing and running away from even the smallest danger. They are really, surely, not representative of modern manhood! I ended up despising them.

Just for the record, before anyone flames me for being sanctimonious, I did virtually all the things they did - flown in a small plane over the Nazca Lines (and yes, someone else in the plane did upchuck all the time!), camped in the outback, walked around Uluru (the Aborigines do not like you to climb it) and even looked crocodiles in the eye rather too close up.
And I was in my 60's when I did all that. At their age, I would have jumped into all their situations with no hassle at all!

If it wasn't set up, Josh and Alex should have just been left in the UK at a Nandos for bantz and a couple of actually interested people could be taken around Oz. Waste of a show and an opportunity. Also, Karl Pilkington did the whole schtick before.

He wasn't insinuating that at all, were you watching the same programme as everyone else?

Thought part 1 was fine but I would have much preferred Adam Hills doing this on his own. I mean, the journey's end is for his grandfather's birthday.

Good Lord! As if this show couldn't get any more right-on they've even somehow managed to shoehorn a call for Britain to give the Elgin Marbles back to Greece into what's supposed to be a humorous road trip. Unbearable.

Enjoying this but finding it a little bit annoying Josh and Alex aren't joining in and keep wussing out.

I don't mind Adam Hills, have seen his stand up. As long as he wasn't labelling the locals Aborigines I would apologise.

Good on Alex for walking off, maybe it was a set up.

So what? Aren't you the big woman for doing that?

The big mistake this show has made is having the boys led by an Australian. He seems intent on proving these "delicate English flowers" wrong. He's butched up to become a proper Aussie and seems intent on goading them all the time.

To be honest if they don't feel happy doing it - then they shouldn't do it. The best example is Adam going up in a plane which was meant to be shaky - and HIM throwing up all the time.

I've been to the Outback and done all you've listed. And the one thing Aussies never tell you about is the flies. They try to climb into your eyes and mouth where there is moisture.

Congrats! That's probably the most stomach-churning thing I've ever read on DS. No doubt it'll feature centre-stage in my nightmares from now on.

BIB. I think someone is after a paper hat

I have loved both these episodes and Adam did admit last night that he was pushing them to hard to 'man up' which he seemed to regret.

I didn't know much about any of these and it was nice seeing a different side to them all.

I am a bit more in love with Joss and Alex.... well, bless him.

Well, I don't know what you mean by that other than you think that I am bragging. I am well aware that an awful lot of people have done everything I have done and much, much more. So hardly bragging.

So I am not saying I am wonderful. But I do think that if you are going to opt out of everything that looks even the slightest bit dangerous then you should not be in a show like this. It could well be that Josh and Alex had no idea they would have to "rough it" as much as they have had to. So perhaps one should make some allowance.

On the other hand, I still ended up despising them after the first show (have not seen the second). I still find it hard to believe that 2 young men would have so little sense of adventure or fortitude and were so frightened by everything.

I cant help but think they were 'set up'. The bit in the dodgy airplane was designed to unnerve them..

The interesting bit is at Alice Springs airport. You are literally spitting them out of your mouth as you leave

As Alex said "they don't tell you that on Ramsey Street"
