Will be interesting to see Corbyn on here - should give the show a more right-wing slant than usual at least

Widdicombe was funny, Brooker did well in the 'ignorant lad' role and Adam Hills kept the show ticking away nicely.

The show became quite popular, not just in my household, but overall as well.

The last 12 months or so though and it really has changed. I like to think I’m fairly liberal, a typical Labour voter but probably more at the centre. That being said, the show has become ridiculous.

The shouty, moralistic, 'right on' approach really isn't working (and it's mainly Hills, rather than Josh and Adam). It isn't particularly humorous either. I think they're trying so hard to be 'edgy' that they've forgotten what made the show so popular to begin with.

The Piñata thing with Jeremy Hunt was embarrassing (and I really don't like Hunt, but come on) and scraping the barrel somewhat. I really can't stand Hills calling people "dicks" just because they have done something that perhaps he doesn't agree with politically. Is he 12 years old? Are we as viewers?

I don't like the patronising "and here's the thing..." from Hills as well, before he goes on a slightly biased and generally incorrect 'rant'.

If the show wants to be taken seriously as a satirical political show, then there needs to be some balance. Not every viewer is going to be far left; they're only alienating some, if not most, of their audience by doing so. HIGNFY does this well and is a lot more popular than TLL - and has been for 20 odd years.

I really rolled my eyes when Corbyn was going to be a guest (I thought he had a live thing with Sky News tonight?). As I can imagine the direction the show will take.

If Hills actually interviews him, grills him on a few things, but also has a bit of a laugh with him, then fair enough. I suspect it will be the usual backside kissing and EU love in though.”

Very good summary of the way the show has developed.

Have you seen the Top Gear threads over the years?

I'm mainly watching this show because Corbyn is on.

It's good to see him on a normal show rather than a political show.

First bit was really funny, all on top form.

When Corbyn came out it all went a bit Question Time and serious.

The audience cheering and hollering when Corbyn spoke shows how they've nailed their colours to the mast.

It's a very lefty show.

I do think they are being a bit disrespectful to Jeremy. At least he has gone on the show.

They don't have to be subservient to him but at least give him some respect.

Makes a change then from seeing shows that are more to the right.

It's refreshing to see they're not sucking up to him as I thought they might.

Sucking up isn't the opposite of disrespecting him.

But this is how they treat all their guests and each other. Jeremy must have known that when he agreed to appear.

Corbyn is incredibly dull. He takes everything so literally.

Yeah, can't warm to him. Labour are more in trouble than ever with him as leader.

He's too much of a wimpy lefty.

He's being far too cautious.

Even Clegg had more fun. Mind you, look where that got him.

Looks like Corbyn's long serious answers messed up the ad breaks, we just had a part there that was no more than a couple of minutes long and consisted of nothing more than Russell Crowe being introduced and him sitting down

Someone tell Corbyn this isnt bloody Question Time. Good God. I liked him before.

I'm not keen on Russell Crowe but he is giving them the respect they are due, e.g. very little.
